October 30, 1967 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was called to order at 10:00 A. M. with members James A. Bickel, and Lloyd Taylor present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. REPORT FRG,", POLICE CHIEF ON TAXI CAB DRIVER Aft4r having previously denied -the application of Robert Ingram for a Taxi Cab Drivers license, police chief McNaughton reviewedssame and noting that he has not had any arrests during the past four years, approved the application on a conditional basis. The Board approved the application on such basis. JOHN J BRASSELL APPOINTED TO POLICE DEPARMENT Chief of Police Thomas H. McNaughton having submitted the name of aohn J. Brassell to be appointed as Police officer, and having recommended that t:,c eld!Lible and having satisfactorily passed the exams, same is hereby reso_�.t-on unanimously approved by the Board to be appointed as police officer effective November 1, 1967. RETIREMENT OF DETECTIVE SERGEAT J F PAJOR Chief of Police Thomas McNaughton submitted the following report: Detective sergeant J. F. Pajo-r of the South Bend Police Department having this date submitted his request for retirement from the Police Department after having completed twenty years of service as of October 6, 1967. same is hereby unanimously approved by -the Board of Public Works effective November 1, 1967. APPLICATION OF SPECIAL POLICEMAN The application of Leslie R. Gorbics was accepted as a special police man. It will be sent to the Police Department for approval. BONDS FOR SPECIAL POLICEMAN Bonds were approved for special policemen Iden L. Frick andRobert F. Morgan. POLICE DEPARVENT APPLICATIONS Police department applications -fere filed for Eugene Alex Tafelski and Ernest Duane Nybo.
