1286. <br />September 5, 1967 <br />The regular meeting of the.Board of Public Works was held in regular session at <br />10:00 A. M. with all members present. The minutes of the previous meeting were <br />read and approved. <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR FOUR NEW RADIOS; <br />Police Chief MCNaughton submitted a request for permission to advertise for four <br />new police radios. Specifications will be on file in the Board of Public Works <br />Office. They will be advertise on September S and 15 in the South Bend Tribune <br />and the Tri-County News and bids will be taken on September 18. <br />REQUEST TO ATTEND NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTIONS ASS#ION CCHMITTEE MEETING: <br />Fire Chief McHenry requested jenpission for Lieutenant William T. Schmidt to attend <br />the National Fire Protections Asso�ons Sectional Committee_i meeting on Aircraft R <br />Rescue and Fire Fighting September 17 to 24, 1967 in Seattle)Washington. <br />Transportation and expenses have been taken care of by an outside interested person. <br />Approval was granted. <br />POLICE OFFICER CHRISTIAN KOEHLER RETIRM/ENT <br />Police Office Christian Koehler having this date submitted to the Board of Public <br />Works and -Safety is resignation from the South Bend Police Department after twenty <br />years of service as of June 21 1967, the Board by resolution now unanimously <br />approves such resignation as of September 0, 1967. <br />POLICE OFFICER STEPHEN M SWARD RESIGNATION: <br />Police Officer Stephen M. Sward Uaving this date submitted his resignation from the <br />South Bend Police Department effective September 1, 1967, the Board does hereby by <br />resolution unanimously accept such resignation, <br />?--MICE APPLICATIONS <br />The following police applications were filed by the Board: <br />Jimmy Lee Emmons 4422 West Sample Street <br />Thomas Grant Kellogg 3819 Montgolfier Place <br />Ronald Casimer Swiatowy 613 No. Brookfield St. <br />James Stephen Bacsa 1908 So.
