May 1, 1967 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was called to order <br />at_ 10:00 A. It. with all members present. The minutes of the previous meeting, <br />were read and approved. <br />SUSPENSION OF POLICE OFFICER DABROS: <br />By recommendation of the Board of Public Works and Safety, Officer David Lee Dabros <br />be temporarily suspended from active duty on the South Bend Police Department - <br />pending further investigation of the incident occurring April 39, 1967, in which <br />Roger Riesner was killed. <br />BIDS• FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />This being the date set, a sealed bid from the Gerber Manufacturing ComparV for <br />unifferms for the Fire Department for the rest of 1967 was opened and the detail <br />of the bid is on page 257 of the :record. <br />A non -collusion affidavit signed by Terry L. Gerber <br />Bid bond of $3,000 dollars signed Terry L. Gerber <br />Proof of publication from the S_puth Bend Tribune and the Tri County News were first <br />read and found sufficient. <br />The Bid being the only one received; the Board accepted same as bid and signed <br />the contract. <br />BIDS: POLICE DEPARTMENT UNIFORMS AND UNHOR1ub5 FOR POLICE WMEN <br />This being the date set, a sealed bid from the Gerber Manufacturing Company for <br />uniforms for the Police Department and the Police Women for the rest of the year <br />1967 was opened after proof of publication from the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News were read and found sufficient. <br />Non -Collusion affidavit property signed by Terry L. Gerber <br />Bid bond of $3,aoo.00 signed by Terry L. Gerber.. <br />The Bid being the only one received, the Board accepted same as bid and signed <br />the contract. Details of the bid are on page 258 of this record. <br />Bids; POLICE DEPARTMENT - THREE WHEEL MOTORCYCLES <br />A sealed bid from the Harley Davidson Sales and Service for four three wheeled <br />motorcycles for the police department was opened after proof of publication from <br />the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News were read and found sufficient. <br />Non -collusion Affidavit signed by William M. Kocsis <br />Bid bond of 10% of the bid signed by William N. Kocsis. <br />This bid being the only one received, the Board accepted same as bid and signed <br />the contract for $7,489.80 including trade-ins. <br />Details.:offthe bid are to be found in the vault and on page 259 of the record. <br />TWO HOUR PARKING SIGN <br />Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director asked that the following be approved and added <br />to the record: <br />2 Hour Parking 6 A.M. to 6 P. M.
