April 17, 1967 <br />I <br />1 <br />1 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was held at 10:00 <br />A. M. with all members present. The minutes of the previous meeting were <br />read and approved. <br />RESOLUTION &6 - TRANSFER OF FUNDS - FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Resolution #6 - Transfer of Funds - Fire Department , 1967 -- RESOLVED by the <br />Board of Public Works and Safety that the sum of $4,450.00 is hereby transferred <br />from Account #Q 726 Other Equipment) to Account #Q 722 (Motor Equipment) , <br />REQUEST FOR BIDS FOR UNIFORMS - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Chief Irvin C. Hampton submitted a request to advertise for Police uniforms. <br />The Board approved same, and bids will be taken on Uglj._l. <br />REQUEST FOR BIDS FOR UNIFfJ Z`�- FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Fire Chief Cecil McHenry requested permission to advertise for fire department <br />uniforms. The Board approved same and bids will be taken on May 1. <br />SPECIAL POLICE BADE <br />A special police badge�::was approved for Olen Earl Lindsey of South Bend, Indiana. <br />A bond was also filed. <br />REQUEST ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT <br />Mr. Eugene E. Radecki, Superintendant of the Electrical Department requested <br />permission to attend the International Municipal signal Association Seminar <br />on May 11, 12 and 13 at Rock Island, Illinois. <br />The Board approved same. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - MONTHLY REPORT <br />A monthly report from the Police Department was approved and put on file. <br />TRAFFIC REPORT: CLEM HAZINSKI <br />Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director, has asked the following to be added to the <br />minutes of the Board of Public.Works and Safety: <br />2 Hour Parking 6A21-6PM signs at 603 No. Hillst (Simeris Contrattiws) <br />NO PARKING signs & Posts at 1100 Duey <br />2 Hour Parking 6AM-6PM signs at 900 So. 20th St. <br />2 Hours Parking 6AM-6PTvt signs at 1926--Mishawaka Avenue <br />STET LIGHTING - SCOTTSDALE SECTION - TRAFFIC?-• ENGINEERING. <br />Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director, has sent the recommendation to the Board of <br />Public Works and safety for 4000 lumen street lights to be mounted on wooden <br />poles to be installed on Selkirk at the following locations: <br />Between 5019 and 5023 Selkirk at Renfrew. <br />South property line of 4921 Selkirk at Dunbarton Court <br />Between lots 192 and 193 Selkirk at Strathmore Court <br />Between 4801 Selkirk and 1401 Perthway. <br />The Board of Public Works approved the recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHT PETITION ON WEST CALVERT <br />It has been recommended by Clem F. Hazinski, Director, that two 4,000 lumen street <br />lights be installed, one at 3101 West Calvert and another at a point 422 feet to the east <br />where there is an existing utility pole, as the only illumination is across from <br />3101 West Calvert where an old-fashioned umbrella type 92 watt fixture is <br />situated. The Board approved the recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />The street light outage repoa,ts for the week were approved. <br />
