FEBRUARY 2; 16' <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was called to order <br />at 10:00 A. M. on Monday, February 20, with all members present. The minutes <br />of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: PISTOL TEAM <br />Police Chief Irvin Hampton appeared before the Board and announced that the pistol <br />team composed of Sgt. R. Albright, Sgt. D. Foy, Sgt. R. Jensen. Officer J. Szweda, <br />and Officer G. Zubler had finished their eliminations for the National Mid -Winter <br />Championship matches to be held in Tampa, Florida. <br />He asked permission for these men to depart South Bend on March 5, 1967 and return <br />to the city on Marc h16, 1967. <br />This. -.request was, -approved by the Board. If one of.the top five cannot attend, <br />Officer J. Radecki was 6th and will go if one of the others cannot attend. <br />SMEET LIGHTING AT ANGELA AND LAFAYETTE <br />Mr. Ralph Wadzinski, Asst. Director, Traffic Engineering Department, submitted the <br />following recommendation to the Board of Safety: <br />'That the existing 4,000 lumen st. lights at � ng g Angela and Lafayette Sts. be <br />increased to 7,000 Lumen Mercury Vapor. The basis for this recommendation <br />is to provide more light to enable motorists to see the misalignment of the <br />U roadway earlier. <br />The preceding recommendation was approved by the Board. <br />PO ICE PA RTMENT• MONZBLY REPORT <br />The monthly report for the police department was approved and ordered filed <br />by the Board. <br />APPPLICATION: POLICE DEPARMENT <br />An application for Terry James DePoy for the Police Department was <br />ordered filed. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />The street light outage reports for the -qebk were approved by the Board and <br />ordered filed. <br />/ F�- 2 4� <br />CHAIRMAN <br />ATTEST: RICHARD J.
