194 <br />July 25, 1966 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was opened at 10:00 <br />A. M. with all members present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read <br />and approved. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - RETIREMENT OF CPL JAMES R <br />Upon the request of Cpl. James R. Hertel, the Board approved his resignation, from the <br />Police Department, effective July 31, 1966, after c6mpleting 24 years and 4 months <br />of active duty: <br />REQUEST- CLEM HAZINSKI <br />A request from Clem F. Hazinski, Traffic Director, stating that the East-West alley <br />in the 300 block of So. Michigan St. between St. Joseph and Michigan has been. <br />vacated, and it is recommended that parking meters be installed A -the former <br />alley ,entrances at St. Joseph and also Michigan Street. <br />The Board approved the recommendation and the Secretary was instructed to <br />notify Mr. Reeder. <br />PTITION Traffic Control Birdsell: Street <br />A petition from several residents in the vicinity along Birdsell Street from <br />Washington Avenue to Linden Avenue to make this a twenty-five mile per hour <br />speed zone was received. <br />The petition was filed by the Board and the secretary was instructed to give copy <br />to Traffic Engineer. <br />PETITION - STREET LIGHT <br />a petition from several residents an Albert Street for a street lightin the <br />500 and 600 block of South Albert was received and filed and referred to Mr. <br />Eugene Radecki for study and recommendation. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT STATISTICAL REPORT <br />A monthly report from the Police Department was filed by the Board. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />The street light outa ge rep_ortt were accepted and filed by the Board. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. <br />CHAIRMAN <br />1 <br />0 <br />
