9 <br />July:8, 1966 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was called to order <br />at 10:00 A. M. with all members present. The minutes of the previous meeting <br />were read and approved. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - RETIREMENT OF DANIEL WISKOTONI <br />Upon the request of Officer Daniel. Wiskotoni the Board approved his resignation <br />from the Bolice Department effective August 1, 1966, after 20 years and 7 months <br />and 21 days. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - RETIREMENT OF EUGENE R. NOVA <br />Upon the request of Officer Eugene R. Nova, the Board approved his retirement <br />from the Police Department after having served twenty years on the Department <br />on December 10, 1965. . 1 's <br />Officer Nova requested that the start his terminal, leave on �uly'19, 1966 -and his <br />retirement to be effective August 2, 1966. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT - STREET LIGHT <br />Eugene Radecki, Electrical Department Superintendant submitted a report with <br />reference to a Petition for a street light from residents in the 900 block of 32nd <br />Street. <br />Mr. Radecki reported that because of the many tall trees in the area, and in view <br />of this condition, the Department recommends the installation of a 40001umen <br />street light midblock. <br />The Board approved the installation. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT - STREET LIGHT <br />Mr. Radecki also submitted a report on the Petition for a street light in the <br />1300 block of East Washington St. <br />lb'Ir. Radecki reported this area was dark due to a tree condition and recommended <br />the installation of a 4000 lumen street light on existing pole J 260-220. <br />The Board approved same. <br />PBLICE DEPARTMENT APPLICATION <br />The following applications for the Police Department were accepted ;and ordered <br />placed on file: Steve Alex Bacsa, Joseph Edward Garstecki and Q. T. Coburn. <br />PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE: POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Permission was granted to the Police Department to advertise for the purchase of <br />six portable Handie Talkie Radios complete with two channel transmit, T154.890 <br />T 155.130 and one channel receive T155.130. <br />TRAFFIC -ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: REPORT ON HAZARDS IN CERTAIN DEPARTMENTS <br />A report on the correction of Hazards in the Sewage .Treatment Plant, in the Street <br />Department, Water Works, City Cemetaryand Newman Recreation Center. Copies of <br />letters to the these departments from Clem F. Hazinski, Chairman, City Employees <br />Safety Committee, with regard to certain hazarous conditions found to exist at <br />the time the premises of the locations were investigated on May 25 and 26-: 1966 <br />by the Insurance Company of North America. Recommendations were made for the <br />correction of these conditions, with request that a report be made to the <br />Board of Works reference feasibility of the recommendations. <br />
