May 16, 1966 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was called to order <br />at 10:00 A. M. on May 16, 1966 with all members present. The minutes of the <br />previous meeting were read and accepted. <br />TRAFFICI: ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT - SIGNS <br />The Traffic Engineering Department that the following traffic signs be approved <br />by the Board: <br />1. Change the Time Limit at 116 E. Tutt Street from two hour to 30 minute. <br />2. Stop Signs & Posts on Brookton at Byron. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT - STOP SIGNS REMOVED <br />A recommendation from Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director that the stop signs on <br />Donmoyer at Miami and on Irvington at Miami be removed. These intersections <br />have been signalized with overhead interconnected traffic signals. The <br />effective opera tion date is May 16, 1966. <br />_TRAFFIC ENGINEERING DEPAR MENT - INSTALLATION OF PARKING METERS WESTERN AND MAIN <br />V Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director, has recommended that Parking Meters be installed <br />at the following locations to replace three o f those authoted removed at <br />Western and Main, southeast quadrant: <br />Twonneters between the two radii on the south side of Western Avenue just east <br />of main St. <br />One Meter between the two radii on the east side of Main Street just south of <br />Western Avenue. <br />The Board approved the two preceding recommendations. and directed the <br />Secretary to notify the Parking Meter department on the latter. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT - E. M. DERROUGH <br />Irvin Hampton, Police Chief, submitted the resignation of E. M. Derrough, <br />Police officer, effective 5/15/66. <br />The following record was made by the Board: <br />Police Officer E. M. Derrough having submitted his resignation to the Board <br />of Safety from the Police Department, same is hereby effective May 15, 1966. <br />Police Department PERMISSION OF EUGENE SIKORSKI TO MOVE OUTSIDE OF CITY <br />Police Chief,: Irvin Hampton submitted a communication from Eugene Sikorski <br />stating that he would like to move to a new home outside the City Limits . <br />His new home will be located at 26846 State Road #2, which is 3.8 miles west <br />of the Western City Limits. His phone number would remain the same. Eugene <br />Sikorski has been with the police department ten years. <br />Permission was granted --by the Board. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - SPECIAL POLICE JOHN SZILAGYI <br />An application for a Special Police Officer for the Torrington Company John <br />Szilagyi, was submitted by the Police Department and signed by the Board. <br />REQUEST - F. 0. P. FESTIVAL <br />A request from the Fraxternal Order of Police St. Joseph Valley Lodge #36 <br />Festival Committee was submitted by Officer J. Rzeszewski. They request per= <br />mission to have a "Festival of Rides" at Marycrest Lot, 2000 Blk. Western Ave. <br />from May 16th through May 28, 1966. They will comps with the Health Laws <br />
