174, <br />4. <br />May 9, 1966 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was held on <br />Monday Aay 9, 1966 at 10.00 A,:M, with all members present. The minutes of <br />the previous meeting were read and accepted, <br />PETITION - STREET LIGHT - FREDERICKSON STREET <br />A petition for a street light to be installed between 2817 and 2901 frederickson <br />Street was submitted by Walter Szymkowiak, and signed by several residents in <br />the vicinity. The streets involved are Frederickson, between Eclipse and <br />Goodland. <br />The petition was approved and filed and sent to Mr. Radecki for further study <br />and investigation. <br />PETITION - FOUR WAY STOP SIGN-.ARDMORE TRAIL AND NORTH SHERIDAN <br />A petition for a four way stop sign at Ardmore Trail and North Sheridan was <br />signed by 109 residents in the vicinity, and submitted by Walter Szymkowiak, <br />District Councilman. <br />The petition was ordered ,/filed and referred to Clem Hazinski for further <br />investigation and study. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT --COURSE FOR AMBULANVE ATTENDANTS <br />Assistant Chief Busfield appeared for Chief McHaary and asked that permission <br />be given to Robert Snider and Darrell W. Dunlap to attend the advanced practical <br />course for ambulance attendants in Chicago on May 11 through May 14, 1966. <br />Also for permission for Lieutenant William T. Schmidt to attend the <br />National Fire Protection Association 70th Annual Meeting in Chicago from <br />May 16, 1966 through May 20, 1966. <br />The request was approved. <br />REQUEST - POLICE DEPARTMENT - RETIREMENT OF C. ANDRYSIAK <br />Officer C. Andrysiak, having this date submitted his request for retirement <br />from the South Bend Police Department to the Board of Public Works and Safety <br />and upon showing pro6f that he has been on the department more than twenty <br />years, same is accepted effective at the tipiration date of his terminal leave <br />period, June 7 1966. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />The street light outage reports were approved and ordered filed. <br />PARKING METERS - 200 BLOCK SO, LAFAYETTE BLVD. <br />A recommendation from Clem F. Hazinski, Traffic director, that two parking meters <br />be added in the 200 block of So. Lafayette B9rbd, was approved. One is to be <br />added on the west side of the street 40 ft. north of the intersecting alley,.and <br />the second on the east side of street 50 ft south of the intersection of <br />Jefferson and Lafayette Blvd. <br />
