153 February 14, 1966 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, February 14, 1966 at 10:00 A.M. Messrs. Robert J. DuComb and Lloyd S. Taylor were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS APPROVED After investigation and study by the Board and the Electrical Department, the following requests for street light installations were approved: 1. Petition.for street light on Woodward Avenue between Hudson Avenue and Angela Boulevard. (4,000 lumen). 2. Petition for street light on Rainbow Drive between Viking and the end of Rainbow Drive. 3. Petition for street light on Ottawa Court at the end of the street at the railroad tracks.(4,000 lumen). Ca0 4. Petition.for street light on 26th Street in center of the block between Jefferson Boulevard and the railroad tracks. 5. Petition for street light on Franklin Place between Jefferson and Washington. (6,000 lumen). 6. Petition for street light on Sunset Place in the center of the block. (4,000 lumen) . 7. Petition.for street light on Parry Street, rear of Eddy Street. �(4,000 lumen.) 8. Petition for street light on Ironwood Drive (1101 S.) between Pleasant and Vine. (6,000 lumen). PETITIONS• STREET LIGHTS The following Petitions for the installation of street lights were submitted to the Board, examined and referred to the Electrical Department for investigation and recommendation: 1. Petition from residents of Portage Avenue for the installation of a street light on Portage Avenue between Scott Street and Leland Avenue. 2. Petition for residents of Bella Vista for the installation of a street light in the 3800 block of Bella Vista. FIRE DEPARTMENT: REQUEST_( FIRE CHIEF MCHENRY ) Fire Chief M enry having unformed:' the Board that it is necessary for him to go to Yuma, Arizona because of illness of a member of his family, permission is hereby granted. PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE: FIRE DEPARTMENT ( TRUCKS ) Fire Chief McHenry requested permission to advertise for two van type trucks for the South Bend Fire Department. There is sufficient money in the budget for these items. Permission granted. Bids will be opened on March 7, 1966. This permission is granted subject to filing of specifications and approval of same. SPECIAL POLICE BOND The Board approved a Special Police Bond for Glen Francis Lowry who is commissioned.as A Special Police officer. The Bond was ordered placed, on file.
