153 <br />February 14, 1966 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />February 14, 1966 at 10:00 A.M. Messrs. Robert J. DuComb and Lloyd S. <br />Taylor were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and <br />approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS APPROVED <br />After investigation and study by the Board and the Electrical Department, <br />the following requests for street light installations were approved: <br />1. Petition.for street light on Woodward Avenue between Hudson Avenue <br />and Angela Boulevard. (4,000 lumen). <br />2. Petition for street light on Rainbow Drive between Viking and the <br />end of Rainbow Drive. <br />3. <br />Petition for street light on <br />Ottawa Court at the end of the street <br />at the railroad tracks.(4,000 lumen). <br />Ca0 <br />4. <br />Petition.for street light on <br />26th Street in center of the block <br />between Jefferson Boulevard and the railroad tracks. <br />5. <br />Petition for street light on <br />Franklin Place between Jefferson and <br />Washington. (6,000 lumen). <br />6. <br />Petition for street light on <br />Sunset Place in the center of the block. <br />(4,000 lumen) . <br />7. <br />Petition.for street light on <br />Parry Street, rear of Eddy Street. �(4,000 <br />lumen.) <br />8. <br />Petition for street light on <br />Ironwood Drive (1101 S.) between Pleasant <br />and Vine. (6,000 lumen). <br />PETITIONS• STREET LIGHTS <br />The following Petitions for the installation of street lights were submitted <br />to the Board, examined and referred to the Electrical Department for <br />investigation and recommendation: <br />1. Petition from residents of Portage Avenue for the installation of a <br />street light on Portage Avenue between Scott Street and Leland Avenue. <br />2. Petition for residents of Bella Vista for the installation of a street <br />light in the 3800 block of Bella Vista. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT: REQUEST_( FIRE CHIEF MCHENRY ) <br />Fire Chief M enry having unformed:' the Board that it is necessary for <br />him to go to Yuma, Arizona because of illness of a member of his family, <br />permission is hereby granted. <br />PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE: FIRE DEPARTMENT ( TRUCKS ) <br />Fire Chief McHenry requested permission to advertise for two van type <br />trucks for the South Bend Fire Department. There is sufficient money <br />in the budget for these items. <br />Permission granted. Bids will be opened on March 7, 1966. This permission <br />is granted subject to filing of specifications and approval of same. <br />SPECIAL POLICE BOND <br />The Board approved a Special Police Bond for Glen Francis Lowry who is <br />commissioned.as A Special Police officer. The Bond was ordered placed, <br />on file. <br />
