January 10, 1966 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />January 10, 1966 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of <br />the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were <br />approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />READVERTISE: POLICE DEPARTMENT ( 7 MOBILE RADIOS ) <br />The bids for 7 mobile radios for the use of the Police Department, <br />opened on January 3, 1966 are rejected due to the fact that the <br />specifications were in error. <br />The Clerk of the Board was directed to readvertise for 7 mobile <br />radios on January 14 and January 21, 1966. Sealed bids will be <br />publicly opened and considered on January 24, 1966 at 10:00 A.M. <br />SPECIAL POLICE BONDS <br />.. The following Special Police Bonds were approved and ordered placed <br />on file: Darwin Earl Wilkeson employed by the South Bend Tribune; <br />Stanley V. Grayzek, employed by Torrington Company, and Robert <br />� Gammage . <br />SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS ) <br />Comes now Richard Liszewski, Director of the Sub -Standard Division <br />of the Building Department, and requests permission to advertise <br />for bids for demolition for property located at 4102 E. Keasey <br />Street, owned by Mrs. Virginia Noble. <br />Permission granted. <br />Mr. Liszewski also requested permission to advertise for bids for <br />demolition for property located at 810-8102 E. Colfax, owned by <br />Harry Polis. Mr. Liszewski reported that nothing had been done <br />about bringing property up to standard. <br />Permission granted. <br />Permission was also granted to Mr. Liszewski to advertise for bids <br />for demolition for property located at 1514 Swygert Street, owned <br />by George Petoe. <br />Permission was granted to Mr. Liszewski to post building as sub- <br />standard. Said building is located at 2006 W. Linden Avenue and <br />is owned by Ervin and Mary Cudowski. It is presently occupied. <br />With reference to property located at 224 N. Huey Street, owned <br />by Alex & Rose Salomon, Donald Patrick, attorney, requested that <br />a continuance of 60 days be given to further investigate the state <br />of this property. <br />Permission granted and Mr. Liszewski also given permission to post <br />structure as sub -standard. <br />Mr. Liszewski requested permission to post building located at 119 <br />Jackson Street as sub -standard. The property is owned by E. Joe <br />and Bernice Harris. <br />Permission granted. <br />Mr. Liszewski reported that property formerly known as the Roosevelt <br />Hotel, on South Michigan Street, which is being demolished, is now <br />being demolished by Ralph -Williams -instead of B & 0. Wrecking Co. <br />Mr. Williams has heavy equipment to facilitate this demolition. <br />
