January 10, 1966 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, January 10, 1966 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. READVERTISE: POLICE DEPARTMENT ( 7 MOBILE RADIOS ) The bids for 7 mobile radios for the use of the Police Department, opened on January 3, 1966 are rejected due to the fact that the specifications were in error. The Clerk of the Board was directed to readvertise for 7 mobile radios on January 14 and January 21, 1966. Sealed bids will be publicly opened and considered on January 24, 1966 at 10:00 A.M. SPECIAL POLICE BONDS .. The following Special Police Bonds were approved and ordered placed on file: Darwin Earl Wilkeson employed by the South Bend Tribune; Stanley V. Grayzek, employed by Torrington Company, and Robert � Gammage . SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS ) Comes now Richard Liszewski, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Department, and requests permission to advertise for bids for demolition for property located at 4102 E. Keasey Street, owned by Mrs. Virginia Noble. Permission granted. Mr. Liszewski also requested permission to advertise for bids for demolition for property located at 810-8102 E. Colfax, owned by Harry Polis. Mr. Liszewski reported that nothing had been done about bringing property up to standard. Permission granted. Permission was also granted to Mr. Liszewski to advertise for bids for demolition for property located at 1514 Swygert Street, owned by George Petoe. Permission was granted to Mr. Liszewski to post building as sub- standard. Said building is located at 2006 W. Linden Avenue and is owned by Ervin and Mary Cudowski. It is presently occupied. With reference to property located at 224 N. Huey Street, owned by Alex & Rose Salomon, Donald Patrick, attorney, requested that a continuance of 60 days be given to further investigate the state of this property. Permission granted and Mr. Liszewski also given permission to post structure as sub -standard. Mr. Liszewski requested permission to post building located at 119 Jackson Street as sub -standard. The property is owned by E. Joe and Bernice Harris. Permission granted. Mr. Liszewski reported that property formerly known as the Roosevelt Hotel, on South Michigan Street, which is being demolished, is now being demolished by Ralph -Williams -instead of B & 0. Wrecking Co. Mr. Williams has heavy equipment to facilitate this demolition.
