3 <br />December 27, 1965 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />December 27, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting were read and approved. No vouchers <br />were approved for payment. <br />APPOINTMENTS: SOUTH BEND FIRE DEPARTMENT ( VICTOR, RICHART, AND WILLIAM <br />CRITTENDON ) <br />Messrs. Victor Henry Richart and William H. Crittendon having heretofore <br />applied to the Board of Public Safety for appointment to the Fire <br />Department and the applications having been examined by the Board and <br />the Board having been advised by Fire Chief Cecil C. McHenry, also <br />President of the Firemen's Pension Board that both of the applicants <br />have successfully passed physical examinations and met all other <br />entrance requirements and there being vacancies in the Fire Department, <br />the said Victor Henry Richart and William H. Crittendon are hereby <br />appointed as members of the South Bend Fire Department, effective <br />January 1, 1966. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT• RETIREMENT ( DET SGT E. A PLE4CNER ) <br />Detective Sgt. Ervin A. Plencner who will have completed 20 years of <br />active service on the Police Department on the loth day of January, <br />1966, and having submitted his request for retirement on said date, <br />same is hereby approved and Detective Sgt. Ervin A. Plencner is <br />retired, effective January 10, 1966. <br />PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE: RADIO DEPARTMENT ; TON TRUCK ) <br />Permission was granted to the City's Radio Department Supervisor, John <br />V. Hunt, to have advertisements placed in the South Bend Tribune and <br />the Tri-County News for one new 1966 Van type model, 2 ton truck. <br />Sealed bids will be opened and considered on January 17, 1966 at <br />10.00 A.M. <br />PETITION: STREET LIGHT <br />A Petition from residents of Sunset Place for a street light installation <br />at Sunset Place was filed with the Board and referred to Eugene Radecki <br />of the Electrical Department for investigation and recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting <br />was adjourned at 11:50 A.M. <br />Chairman <br />test: Richard .Duck, Clerk <br />1 <br />
