December 6, 1965 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />December 6, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. Messrs. Robert J. DuComb and Lloyd <br />S. Taylor were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read <br />and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various <br />suppliers. <br />EXECUTION OF CONTRACT: BOARD OF AVIATION COMMISSIONERS ( FIRE PROTECTION <br />FOR 1966 ) <br />The Board executed a contract for the year 1966 for fire protection <br />at the St. Joseph County Airport. <br />The secretary was directed to forward.all copies to Mr. G. Burt Ford, <br />attorney at law, with instructions that all copies be executed by <br />the Board of Aviation Commissioners prior to the first of 1966 and <br />to return two executed copies to the Office of the Board for filing <br />and for records. <br />REQUEST: M&O- E PARKING METER ( GATES CHEVROLET ) <br />At the request of Gates Chevrolet Corporation, the Board approved the <br />removal of parking meter No. 1.1 in the 300 block of South Franklin <br />Street. <br />This is necessitated because of the corporation's expansion program <br />and the fact that this meter is now blocking a drive leading to the <br />customer parking lot. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARU ENT: TRAFFIC ENGINEER ( JEFFERSON BLVD, PARKING ) <br />At the recommendation of Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director and of <br />Lloyd S. Taylor, City Engineer, the Board approved the prohibition of <br />parking on the south side of East Jefferson from Hill S reet to St. <br />Louis Boulevard. This is presently a 2 hour limit zonel <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: INSTALLATIONS <br />The Board approved the following installations: <br />No Parking Signs on the north side of Mishawaka Avenue from a point <br />east of 20th Street to Greenlawn. <br />PETITION: STREET LIGHT <br />A Petition from residents of Western Avenue and Pine Street for the <br />installation of a street light on Pine Street at an alley intersection <br />between Western and Napier was submitted to the Board, examined and <br />referred to the Electrical Department for investigation and recommen- <br />dation. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street.Light Outage.Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />A Report from the Building Department for the month of November, 1965 <br />was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE AUXILIARY SCHOOL PATROL APPLICATIONS <br />The following applications.for the Police Auxiliary School Patrol were <br />accepted and ordered placed on file: Mrs. Aquina Hillary VanHolsheke <br />and Mrs. Lillian Beatrice Leonard. <br />
