August 23, 1965 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />August 23, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the <br />last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and <br />ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARING) <br />Comes now Richard Liszewski, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of <br />the Building Department, and advises the Board that Ernest and Willowdene <br />Miltenberger, owners of property located at 601-601Z E. Pennsylvania <br />Avenue, had been ordered to appear before the Board to show cause why <br />the subject property had not been brought up to standard as requested. <br />Mr. Liszewski advised the Board that the owner had requested a 30 day <br />continuance in order to make repairs and the Board, after hearing Mr. <br />Liszewski, continued the hearing for a period of 30 days. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER: INSTALLATIONS <br />The Board approved the following installations: <br />1. Remove Stop signs on Jefferson & Camden. Change signs on Camden <br />at Jefferson to regular Stop Signs. Install "Cross Traffic Does Not <br />Stop" signs on Camden. <br />2. Paint curb yellow at 1405 Portage on both :thdi Elwood and Portage <br />side. <br />3. Paint curb yellow in front of 114 W. Bronson and replace the 112 <br />Hour Parking" sign with a "No Parking Loading Zone" sign. <br />SPECIAL POLICE CC MlIISSION ( HUNT ) <br />A Special Police Commission for Russell L. Hunt, employed by the <br />South Bend Community Schools, was approved by the Board and ordered <br />placed on file. <br />According to Police Chief Hampton, no Special Police Bond is required <br />for this Commission. <br />REPORT: POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />A Report for the month of July, 1965 was submitted by the Police <br />Department, examined and ordered placed on file. <br />APPLICATIONS: POLICE DEPARTMENT ( AUXILIARY SCHOOL PATROL ) <br />The following applications for the Police Auxiliary School Patrol were <br />accepted and ordered placed on file: Mrs. Leonora Elizabath Luccki <br />and Mrs. Essie Mae Bibbs. <br />APPLICATIONS: FIRE DEPARD ENT <br />The following applications for the Fire Department were accepted and <br />ordered placed on file: Joseph Alexander Lyczynski and Melvin Thomas <br />Chrapliwy. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting <br />was adjourned at 11:15 A.M. <br />At est: Rich d J. ck, Clerk <br />
