5 <br />1 <br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC SIGNS <br />The Board approved the following installations of traffic signs: <br />Stop Sign and post at the S.E. corner of Madison and entrance to Morris <br />Park. <br />No Parking - 3 No Parking signs and posts in front of 825 S. Main. <br />Replace the 2 "Two Hour Parking" signs on Oliver Street alongside 1702 <br />Prairie with 1130 Minute Parking" signs. <br />Replace the 3 112 Hour Parking" signs at 1702 and 1712 Prairie with <br />"30 Minute Parking" signs. <br />No Parking 3-6 signs on the first 5 parking meters on the south side of <br />100 W. Wayne. Remove the 12 Minute meter signs. <br />Install two "12 Minute Meter " signs on the 1st 2 meters on the east side <br />of Main S^reet, (300 block). <br />Install "Speed Limit 30" signs on south 30th Street at the following <br />locations. <br />On SnowRoute signs west side of 30th 150' south of Jefferson. <br />all On Snow Route sign east side of 634 - 30th. <br />(gip On S.P. west side 40' south of Hastings. <br />On Snow Route sign post east side 100' of Mishawaka. <br />V <br />REPORT: RAILROAD TRACK REPAIR - N.Y. CENTRAL C ARNOLD STREET CROSSING, <br />Mr. Taylor, City Engineer, submitted a letter to the Board from Clem <br />Hazinski, Traffic Director, with reference to the newly repaired and <br />resurfaced railroad crossing on South Arnold Street by the New York <br />Central Railroad. <br />Mr. Hazinski reported that the finished product rather than being on a <br />plane with adjacent tracks of the Grand Trunk crossing just south of <br />the New York Central crossing is a saw -tooth type hazard. The reconstructed <br />track is 6 inches higher than the rail of the Grand Trunk track which <br />is only 7 feet away. <br />Mr. Hazinski further reported that on calling this to the attention <br />of the Division Superintendent of Tracks, a Mr. Willlam Drunsie, he <br />was told that nothing could be done about it except to post it as a <br />"rough crossing" or to have Grand Trunk raise their tracks to form the <br />desired plane. <br />Mr. Hazinski further recommended that, because this crossing is hazardous, <br />a letter be addressed to Mr. William Minx, Division Engineer of the <br />New York Central Railroad in Chicago directing the railroad to correct <br />the hazardous condition. <br />The Board approved this recommendation and the Clerk of the Board was <br />directed to write to Mr. Minx and request that this condition be <br />corrected. <br />MONTHLY AND ANNUAL REPORTS ( WEIGHTS & MEASURES ) <br />A Report for the month of June, 1965 and an Annual Report from July 1, <br />1964 to June 301 1965 were filed by Bert Cichowicz, City Sealer. The <br />reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />REQUEST: MILITARY LEAVE ( POLICE DEPARTMENT ) CAPT <br />Captain Orson E. Harman of the Police Department was granted permission <br />for military leave from July 12, 1965 through July 23, 1965 during which <br />time he will be stationed at Bunker Hill Air Force Base, Peru, Indiana. <br />SPECIAL POLICE BOND ( TOTH�, & awAmmfT ) <br />A Certificate of Insurance from Pinkerton's Detective Agency covering <br />special police assigned to Robertson's Department Store was approved <br />by the Board and ordered placed on file. M. Toth and M. Osmanski covered. <br />CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE ( PINKERTON'S ( ROBERTSON'S ELTLOYEES ,) <br />A Certificate of Insurance from Pinkerton's Detective Agency covering <br />Robertson Department Store special police employees was approved and <br />ordered placed on file. <br />
