June 28, 1965 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />June 28, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the <br />last regular meeting were read and approved. No vouchers were approved <br />for payment. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( OPEN BIDS ) DEMOLITION <br />Comes now Richard Liszewski with sealed bids for demolition of the <br />following property <br />1107 High Street, owned by Alex and Helen Niedbal.ski. <br />The following bids were opened and examined by the Board and found to <br />be properly executed: <br />Chas. Clough <br />2541.2 State Road 2 <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />A & J Demolition <br />318 O'Brien Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />$300.00 Retain salvage <br />25.00 Water shut-off fee <br />$325.90 <br />$365.00 Stack salvage <br />25.00 Water shut-off fee <br />$390.00 <br />$425.00 Retain salvage <br />25.00 Water shut-off fee <br />$450.00 <br />$440.00 Stack salvage <br />25.00 Water shut-off fee <br />$465.00 <br />It appearing that the bid of Chas. Clough is the lowest and best bid, <br />it was awarded to Chas. Clough in accordance with the above figures. <br />With reference to property owned by Mrs. C. Wezesien, Located at 1013-1015 <br />Western Avenue, Mr. Liszewski advised the Board that no repairs had been <br />made as ordered and requested permission to advertise for bids for <br />demolition. <br />Permission granted. <br />Mr. Liezewski..asked,:: and was granted permission to post property at 910 <br />S. Franklin as sub -standard. This property is owned by Steve Atlagich. <br />At the recommendation of Mr. Liszewski, the Board granted an extension <br />of 60 days in order to make repairs on property located at 1216 King Street. <br />RE: ESTHER HCUE BUILDERS - CQOIAINT <br />A letter from Mr. Irvin J. Manuszak of 1322 Chimes Blvd., with reference <br />to a complaint received previously concerning the debris on this property, <br />was referred to the Board, examined and ordered placed on file. <br />TRAFFIC DIRECTOR: TRAFFIC SIGNS ( EDISON & IVY ROADS ) <br />As the result of a study of the 4-way stop at Edison and Ivy Roads by <br />Clem Hazinski and also the St. Joseph County Engineer, it was the opinion <br />of Clem Hazinski that this crossing does not need this installation <br />and it was his recommendation that the two stop signs that are within <br />the City Limits be changed and the sign at the southwest corner be <br />removed and the sign at the southeast corner be changed to a standard <br />sign. Warning sign will be installed on Ivy at its approaches to Edison: <br />"Cross Traffic does not stop.'! <br />n <br />1 <br />
