February S, 1965 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />February S, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. Messrs. Robert J. DuComb and James A. <br />Bickel were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read <br />and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various <br />suppliers. <br />AWARDING OF BIDS: POLICE DEPARTMENT Q4 SEDANS 1 STATION WAGON <br />After examination, it appearing that the following are the lowest and <br />best bids for the Police Department vehicles, they are awarded as <br />follows: <br />Freeman S icer Co -,-Inc, (CONTRACT ) <br />520 S . Lafayette Blvd. <br />South Bdnd, Indiana <br />�.. 24 - 1965 Plymouth 4-Door automobiles as per specifications <br />(Group No. 1 and Group No. 2) $29,785.00- <br />Ca0 <br />Gates Chevrolet Co- CONTRACT NO 4,-65 <br />333 IV. Western Ave. <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />1 - 1965 Chevrolet Station Wagon as per specifications <br />(Group No. 3) $1,282.00 <br />LICENSING OF RESTAUP�ANTS <br />The City Controller was requested to submit a list of restaurants that <br />have not been licenses for 1965 to l,�.r. Stephen 2J2olnar of the Health <br />Department who will check the list to ascertain that they are still <br />in business and are not "seasonal" establishments. <br />A report will be made on February 15, 1965 and restaurants that have <br />not been -licenses for 1965 will be dealt with by the Legal Department. <br />Licenses viere due and payable as of January 31k 1965. <br />REQUEST: MORT LINDER & ASSOCIATES BAG METERS - DE= HEAZ �VEEK) <br />A request from Mort Linder & Associates to bag two meters in front of <br />the Court House on Main Street for February S and February 9, 1965 <br />was submitted to Vile Board. <br />The Board, after due deliberation, took the following action: <br />The Board having been requested to bag two meters on Main Street in <br />front of the Court House for the purpose of advertising the 17th <br />Annual Children's Dental health Week granted said request. No charge <br />will be made for the meters. <br />REQUEST: SOUTH BEND CCU1,'MNITY SCHOOL CORPORATION CHANGE PARKING METERS <br />A request from Russell L. Hunt, Supervisor of Transportation, South <br />Bend CoOmvnity School Corporation, to charge three sixty minute parking <br />meters located in front of the School Administration Building, 228 <br />South St. Joseph Street to twelve minute meters was submitted to the <br />Board. <br />The request was made because of the lack of parking facilities on the <br />School Administration Building parking lot and will permit additional <br />parking of administrators doing business at the Administration Building <br />since such business can usually be conducted in a short period of time. <br />The request was referred to the Traffic Engineer for investigation and <br />report. <br />
