11/17/69 <br />HEARING ON:'..ASSESSMENT ROLL - IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3265 (AMENDED <br />CLYDE STREET <br />This being the date set for hearing on the assessment roll for the improvement <br />of Clyde Street, from Donald Street to Calvert Street, by constructing a Class <br />C pavement, the Clerk tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune <br />and the Tri County News on October 31 and November 7, 1969, which were read <br />and found to be proper. <br />Harold Brothers, 1325 E. Donald Street, South Bend, Indiana, appeared before <br />the Board in reference to his assessment. <br />After discussing the flat rate set under the five-year,plan of payment, the <br />matter was continued one week and referred to the City Attorney for recommendation <br />to the Board. <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3266 (AMENDED) - <br />SANCOME AVENUE <br />This being the date set for hearing on the assessment roll for the improvement <br />0 <br />of Sancome Avenue, from LaPorte to Lincolnway-West, by constructing a Class C <br />C^r <br />pavement with curb repair, the Clerk tendered proofs of publication in the <br />tl- <br />South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on October 31 and November 7, 1969, <br />which were read and found to be proper. <br />Donald Kotoske, 717 Sancome Avenue, and Chester Jennings, 672 LaPorte Avenue, <br />appeared before the Board in response to notices received of the hearing. <br />The amounts assessed against Donald Kotoske, 717 Sancome Avenue and against <br />Arthur P. Hoctel, 720 Sancome Avenue were found to be in error. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the hearing was continued one week. <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3289 = DALE AVENUE <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll for the im- <br />provement of Dale Avenue, from Ewing to Fox Street, by constructing a Class C, <br />Type IV pavement. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri County News on October 31 and November 7, 1969, which were <br />read and found to be proper. <br />No remonstrators having appeared and no written remonstraices having been re- <br />ceived, upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved <br />the assessment roll adopted October 27, 1969, and the same was in all things <br />confirmed. <br />NOTICE OF INCREASE IN PARKING RATES - GREEN ARROW PARKING, INC. <br />Notice of increase in parking rates from 35C to 50t by Green Arrow Parking, Inc., <br />302 N. Main Street, South Bend, Indiana as posted in their lots 41, 18 and 20, <br />was ordered filed. <br />COMPLAINT OF MILADY SHOP -"NO PARKING" VIOLATIONS - ALLEY BETWEEN MILABY SHOP <br />AND WYMAN'S <br />The complaint of Milady Shop, 119 N. Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />of parking violations in the alley between Milady Shop and Wyman's Department <br />Store was referred to the Police Department, and suggesting that meter maids <br />patrol this area. <br />CITY ENGINEER'S RECOMMENDATION ON PEDESTRIAN RAMP TO PARKING GARAGE AT COLFAX <br />AND MAIN FROM WYMAN'S <br />The motion was made, seconded and unanimously carried, upon the recommendation <br />of the City Engineer, to approve the request of Wyman's to construct a <br />pedestrian ramp from Wyman's to the Municipal parking garage at the corner of <br />Main and Colfax Avenue, on condition that detail plans and specifications will <br />be submitted to the City for final approval before proceeding with the con- <br />struction. It is further understood that the ramp will span diagonally across <br />the alley from the northwest corner of Wyman's to the southeast corner of the <br />parking garage; that clearance under the ramp will be approximately 23 feet; and <br />that it will be necessary to provide a supporting column approximately seven <br />inches:square in the public sidewalk at about the west curb line. <br />
