Mr. Adamson reported some of the debris at this <br />location, but not all of it, had been removed; that the house is open <br />and in bad condition; that it could be rehabilitated but the owner lacks <br />funds to do so. Contract for demolition having been awarded on July 14, <br />1969, but taken under advisement for two weeks, the contract is now <br />formally signed by the Board and awarded to John E. Vanek on his tow <br />bid of $542.00. <br />Demolition bids opened: <br />This being the date set, bids were opened for demolition of the following <br />properties. Non collusion affidavits were examined and found to be proper. <br />Bids were: <br />810 W. Jefferson: <br />A & J Demolition Company - $475.85 <br />A Midwest Wrecking & Demolition $783.00 <br />Julius O'Neal - $845.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract was <br />•. awarded to A & J Demolition Company on its low bid of $475.85, subject <br />to the owner of the property taking an appeal within the next seven days. <br />612 E. Ohio Street: <br />A & J Demolition Company - $533.50 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company - $475.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract was <br />awarded to O'Neal Trucking Company on its bid of:.$475.00, subject to <br />the owner of the property taking an appeal within the next seven days. <br />Demolition contract signed: <br />417 S. William Street. The owner of this property having taken no appeal <br />within seven days and no other demolition permit having been issued, contract <br />awarded July 21, 1969, to Julius O'Neal on his low bid of $810.00 is now <br />formally signed by the Board. <br />Request for owners of sub -standard properties to appear before Board 8/4/69 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, thie Board approved the <br />request of J. W. Adamson, Sub -Standards Director, for the following owners <br />of sub=standard properties to appear before the Board on August 4, 1969, to <br />show cause, if any they have, why such properties should not be demolished: <br />Mary H. Gluchowski 133 S. Scott Street <br />Eli Vodick 315 W. Garst Street <br />And the Clerk is directed to so notify said owners by certified mail. <br />PROMOTIONS AND DEMOTION - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved <br />the recommendation of Chief;_of Police Thomas McNaughton for the following <br />promotions: <br />Kenneth Del inski - to the rank of sergeant, effective 7/28/69 <br />John Haney - to the rank of sergeant, effective 7/28/69 <br />Daniel Thompson - to the rank of sergeant, effective 7/28/69 <br />and the demotion of Donald Niezgodski, at his request, from sergeant <br />to patrolman, effective 7/28/69. <br />MONTHLY REPORT FOR JUNE, 1969 - WEIGHTS & MEASURES DEPARTMENT <br />The monthly report of the Weights and Measures Department for June, 1969, <br />was reviewed and ordered filed. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE EDGEWATER DRIVE FOR BLOCK PARTY 7/27/69 <br />The action of the Board 7/23/69 in approving the -request of Harlan Bourdon <br />to close Edgewater Drive, from Arch to Monroe 7/27/69, from 12:00 noon until, <br />8:00 P.M., for a block party, is hereby confirmed and made of record. <br />
