Mr. Adamson reported <br />this house is open and in a deplorable condition and neighbors have complained. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, permission was granted <br />to advertise for bids for demolition of the premises. <br />115 N. Adams. Mrs. Pinkie Jones appeared before the Board.' Mr. Adamson <br />stated this structure is a house with a store front, is'open and has been <br />unoccupied for a long time. Mrs. Jones stated she is willing to have the <br />building demolished. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, <br />permission was granted to advertise for bids for demolition of the premises. <br />2410-2412 W. Ford Street. Gene Arnett appeared before the Board as requested, <br />and says he will secure the building. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />dnanimously carried, 30 days time was granted to permit the owner to secure <br />the building and clean up the premises. <br />739 South Bend Avenue, Dr. Herman Smith, land contract buyer for this <br />property, appeared before the Board and stated that he has put on a new <br />roof and is in the process of rehabilitating the property, in which his <br />grandson lives. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, an ex- <br />0 tension of one week was granted to permit Sub -Standards Division to check <br />repairs made to the building. <br />204 E. Keasey. Property owner George Fowler did not appear as requested. <br />Mr. Adamson reported the owner states he does not intend to do anything. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, permission was granted <br />to advertise for bids for demolition of the premises. <br />728 S. Rush Street. Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Westenberg, owners, live in <br />Florida, and were represented by John W. Hoover, 1134 S. Main Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana, who appeared before the Board. Mr. Hooverrstated the property <br />had been rented and the renters did not take care of it. it was the <br />consensus of opinion, including Mr. Hoover, that the cost of repairing the <br />house would exceed its value.' Mr. Hoover inquired who would pay the cost <br />of demolishing the house and was advised that if demolished by the City <br />it would be a lien against the property. Upon motion made, "seconded and <br />unanimously carried, permission was granted to advertise for bids for <br />demolition of the premises. <br />1601 Longley. Max A. Moore appeared before the B oard. Mr. Adamson stated <br />that'there are many defects in the structure and vandals have broken in. <br />Mr. Moore was advised that the building could not be restored as a store <br />building since it is in a residential area. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and unanimously carried, two weeks additional time was given the owner in <br />which to see what he can do with the property. <br />118 Paris Street. Mr. Watson'of the Wm. R. Morris Agency, agent for the <br />owner, advised they are going"to remove the accessory building. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter was continued 30 days to <br />permit the owner to remove the accessory building. <br />1626 S. Williams Street. The owner of this property lives in Milwaukee. <br />Mr. Watson of Wm. R. Morris Agency, representing the owner, wants the City <br />to remove the structure. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, <br />permission was granted to advertise for bids for demolition of the premises. <br />4035 S. Michigan Street. No one representing the owner of this property <br />appeared before the'Board as requested and Mr. Adamson stated nothing had <br />been heard from Blenke Brothers, owners of the Nursing Home. Upon -motion <br />made, seconded and unanimously carried, permission was granted to advertise <br />for bids for demolition of the property. <br />2526 Linden Street. Continued to 7/7/69 (30 days not having expired). <br />414 Pennsylvania Street. Mr. Adamson advised this property was burned in <br />the past week after recent vandalism, and the owner does not wish to <br />rehabilitate it. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, per- <br />mission was granted to advertise for bids for demolition of the property. <br />
