Reinke and <br />Sons., Inc. to 1/1 0 is received and filed. <br />OPEN BIDS -FOR PUMPER TRUCK FOR FIRE DEPARTMEE <br />This being the date set for receiving bids for pumper truck for the Fire Depart- <br />ment, the Clerk tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend. Tribune and the <br />Tri County News on November 29 and December 6, 1968, which were read and found to <br />be sufficient. <br />The bid of Midwest Fire and Safety Equipment, Inc., 1605 Prospect Street, Indian- <br />apolis, Indiana, 46203, was opened. Non collusion affidavit and bid bond of 10/ <br />of the total bid were found to be sufficient, The bid being as follows: <br />1500 G.P.M. Maxim Pumper truck $3ff,406.60 <br />less trade-ins 1,720.00 <br />Net-------------------------------- $ 32.9281.00 <br />The bid of American LaFrance Division of Automatic Sprinkler Corporation of America <br />Elmira, New York, 14902, was opened. Non collusion affidavit and bid bond of l0/ <br />of the total bid were found to be sufficient. The bid being as follows: <br />1500 G.P.M. Pumper Truck $42,999.00 <br />less trade-ins 20000.0 <br />Net-------------------------------- $ 39,999.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to the City Engineer <br />for further study in conjunction with the Fire Department. <br />APPOINTMENT OF SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER - DANIEELRADECKI. <br />Upon the recommendation of Chief of Police Thomas H. McNaughton, the Board approved <br />the appointment of Daniel Radecki as a special police officer, Mr. Radecki being <br />employed by Bendix Corporation. <br />REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHT - 291h AND WALL STREETS <br />Upon the recommendation of the Engineering Department, the Board denied the re- <br />quest of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 29th and Wall Streets, for additional <br />street lights, but approved the increase of the existing lights to 7000 lumen mer- <br />cury vapors. <br />APPLICATION - FIRE DEPARTUIENT <br />The application of Dennis Lynn DeBuysser for appointment to the Fire Department w as <br />filed with the Board and referred to the Personnel Director for further processing. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS for the period 12/20/68 to 12/27/68 were ordered filed. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned <br />at 10:55 A.M. -2 z7l-� <br />Taylor <br />d J.
