BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION <br />Forrest West Building Commissioner, appeared before the Board and the <br />following matters were taken up: <br />1207 King Street. Mr. West reported the Sub -Standards Department as yet <br />has been unable to contact the owner; that he has an unlisted telephone <br />number and is employed at Bendix and hard to reach. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the matter was continued four weeks. <br />122 S. Laurel Street. Mr. West reported this property still occupied d <br />that an effort is being made to relocate the tenants. Upon Motion mae,, <br />seconded and unanimously carried, the matter pertaining to 122 S. Laurel <br />Street was continued four weeks. <br />2116 Western Avenue.,Attorney George Stratigos did not,appear on behalf <br />of the owner as requested. It was moved, seconded and carried, that <br />since the representative of the owner has failed to appear as requested <br />at the past two Board meetings that,the Board award contract on January 18, <br />1971 (if no appearance is made) for demolition of the structure at 2116 <br />00 Western Avenue to the low bidder.on August 31, 1970, and that the $25.00 <br />depositbe forfeited. _ <br />WEIGHTS & MEASURES DEPARTMENT - REPORT FOR DECEMBER, 1970 <br />The report of the Weights and Measures Department for December, 1970, <br />was reviewed and ordered filed. <br />1002 CULVER PLACE - LETTER FROM CHARLES M. Beale Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana in reference to the demolition of the structure at 1002 Culver <br />Place and his contemplated purchase was read and ordered filed. <br />PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS APPROVED - GILMER PARK SEWER, DIVISIONS "B" AND "C" <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, plans and specifications <br />were approved by the Board for the Gilmer Park Sewer, Divisions "B" and <br />"C," as recommended by the Engineering Department. <br />PETITION FILED TO VACATE STREETS AND ALLEYS WITHIN THE NEW POST OFFICE <br />SITE - DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT <br />The Department of Redevelopment files with the Board its petition to vacate <br />streets and alleys within the new Post Office site at Michigan and Monroe <br />Streets, more particularly described as follows: <br />A part of the west Half of Section 12, Township 37 north, <br />Range 2 east, city of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, <br />described as follows: <br />Beginning at the intersection of the east boundary of South <br />Michigan Street (U.
