W <br />12/14/70 <br />APPLICATION FOR ELECTRICITY - BRENTWOOD COURT <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the Board approved the application <br />of Joseph Manning and William Drehmel for electricity for a mobile home <br />to be used only as an office and display area, with no sewerage or water <br />connections to be made, on property designated as Brentwood Court at <br />Mayflower Road and Sample Street. <br />TAXICAB STANDS APPROVED - INDIANA CAB COMPANY <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved <br />the request of the Indiana Cab Company for cab stands on Washington Avenue <br />and N. Main Street as follows: <br />2 - cab stands in the 200 block of West Washington Avenue, just <br />west of the alley on the north side of the street. <br />2 - cab stands in the 100 block of N. Main Street, on the west <br />side of the street. <br />REQUEST TO BURN TREES DENIED - SCOTTSDALE MALL <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unan1mously carried, the Board denied the re- <br />quest of Bartolini Excavating Company, 16242 Day Road, Mishawaka, Indiana, to <br />burn trees in cleaning up a tract of approximately 50 acres on the corner of <br />Miami and Ireland Road in the Scottsdale Mall upon the recommendation of the <br />Fire Chief since no permits have been issued for burning since September, <br />1970. <br />REQUEST TO ERECT FLAG POLES IN FRONT OF AMERICAN NATIONAL BANK BUILDING <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried permission was granted <br />to the American National Bank to erect two flag poles on N. Main Street bn <br />front of the building on the condition that t_5e City of South Bend be provided <br />with a hold harmless agreement. <br />REQUEST OF GRANADA THEATRE <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of H. J. Schenkel, Manager of the Granada Theatre for traffic control <br />in front of the Theatre for the invitation premiere of "The Wild Country" December <br />15, 1970, and the request was referred to the Traffic Division of the Police <br />Department for execution. <br />CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY TRANSFER - ZICK TO THOMPSON <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the transfer <br />of certificate of public convenience and necessity from Ernest Zick to Grady <br />L. Thompson, 1134 Harvey Street, South Bend, Indiana, for Cab #11 on condition <br />that the vehicle passes inspection and the filing of a certificate of liability <br />insurance with the City of South Bend. <br />STREET LIGHTING APPROVED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the recommendations of the <br />Traffic Engineering Department were approved for the following street lighting: <br />Installation of one 20,000L MV OH WP at the intersection of <br />Angela and Eddy, at a cost of $66.00 per year. <br />Installation of three 43,000L FL UG SP lights at the American National <br />Bank Building, two in the 200 block of W. Washington and one in the <br />100 block of N. Main Street, at a cost of $49.80 per month. <br />TRAFFIC REGULATIONS APPROVED <br />and carried, <br />Upon motion made, seconded,/the recommendations of the Traffic Engineering <br />Department were approved for the following traffic regulations: <br />Prohibit parking in the 100 block of W. Navarre Street until the con- <br />struction of Memorial Hospital has been completed. <br />Install a "stop" sign at Corby homes exit, at Corby Street and Patty Lane. <br />
