<br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION
<br />J. W. Adamson, Sub -Standards Director, appeared before the Board and the
<br />following matters were taken up:
<br />1123 E. Donald Street. Clem Winkowski appeared before the Board on behalf of
<br />Carl Dubai], owner of this property, and stated it is the intention of the
<br />owner to rehabilitate the accessory building into a garage. Upon motion made,
<br />seconded and carried, the matter was continued two weeks.
<br />1007-N. Notre Dame Avenue. Frank,Bilello•appeared before the Board as re-
<br />quested, and stated that he hopes to get the,building torn down next week.
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was continued one week to
<br />permit the owner to obtain a demolition permit.
<br />16082 Prairie Avenue. Sam Bernstein, owner of this property, appeared be-
<br />fore the Board as requested, and'stated that the property was "too far gone
<br />to do anything with it" and agreed for the City to demolish the structure.
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Sub -Standards Director was
<br />authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the structure at 16082 Prairie
<br />Avenue.
<br />655-657 Lawndale. Salvatore Mancuso, owner of the property, appeared before
<br />the Board as requested and stated he is willing for the City to demolish the
<br />structure. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Sub -Standards
<br />Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the structure at 655-657
<br />Lawndale..
<br />625 N. Eddy Street. Arthur Rothballer appeared before the Board with his mother,
<br />Mrs. Gladys Rothballer, owner of this property, and acted as spokesman. Upon
<br />motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was continued two weeks for the
<br />owner to close the building.
<br />427 N. Hill Street. Mrs. Anna Stancati did not appear as requested.- Upon
<br />motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was continued one week.
<br />l50]'S.Lebanon=Street Mrs. 'Vendetta Markus, owner, who lives in Florida did
<br />not appear. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was continued
<br />for one week.
<br />1217 South Bend Avenue., Samuel Johnson did not appear as requested. Mr.
<br />Adamson reported Samuel Johnson has been relocated. Upon motion made, seconded
<br />and carried, the matter was continued one week for the Sub -Standards Depart- '
<br />spent to determine what the owner wishes to do about the structure.
<br />3707 Belle Vista. G. W. Benson did not appear as requested. Mr. Adamson re-
<br />ported a partial demolition was accomplished by the owner but an accessory
<br />building is still standing. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter
<br />was continued two weeks for the Sub -Standards Department to further contact
<br />the owner.
<br />240S Kenwood. Mr. Adamson reported the premises at this location have been
<br />cleaned up but building has not yet started. Upon motion made, seconded and
<br />carried, the matter was,continued indefinitely and the Sub -Standards Director
<br />was requested to keep the property under surveillance.
<br />1506 Kemble. Mr. Adamson reported the owner is attempting to get a contractor
<br />to demolish this structure himself. Upon motion made, seconded and carried,
<br />the matter was continued indefinitely and the Sub -Standards Director was re-
<br />quested to keep the property under surveillance.
<br />1022 S.!a5th Street - Complaint of William Munich and others
<br />A complaint of William Munich, 1110 S. 35th Street, South Bend, Indiana, and
<br />12 others, in regard to the condition of the premises at 1022 S. -35th Street was
<br />filed with the Board and, upon motion made, seconded and carried, was referred
<br />to the Sub -Standards Department for investigation and report to the Board on
<br />August 3, 1970.
<br />WEIGHTS AND MEASURES DEPARTMENT - REPORTS
<br />Annual report for the period July 1, 1969 through June 30, 1970, and monthly
<br />report for June, 1970, of the Weights and Measures Department were reviewed
<br />and ordered filed.
