<br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 9:30
<br />A.M., on June 15, 1970, with all members present. The minutes of the last
<br />meeting were reviewed and approved.
<br />BIDS OPENED FOR TEMPORARY LOAN WARRANTS
<br />This being the date set for receiving bids for temporary loan warrants in the
<br />amount of $1,350,000.00, the Clerk tendered proofs of publication in the South
<br />Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on May 29 and June 5, 1970, which were
<br />read and found to be proper.
<br />Bids were submitted by the First Bank and Trust Company, 133 S. Main Street,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, at an interest rate of 4.28% per-annum, with no premium;
<br />and by the St. Joseph Bank and Trust Company, 202 S. Michigan Avenue, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, at an interest rate of 5.625% per annum, with a premium of
<br />$11.00.
<br />There being no other bids received, the motion was made, seconded and
<br />unanimously carried, to accept the bid of the First Bank and Trust Company
<br />at the interest rate of 4.28°% per annum.
<br />'BIDS OPENED - FIRE DEPARTMENT UNIFORMS
<br />This being the date set for receiving bids for uniforms for the Fire Department
<br />for the period 7/l/70 through 12/31/70, the Clerk tendered proofs of publication
<br />in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on June 5 and June 12, 1970,
<br />which were examined and found to be proper.
<br />The only bid received was from Gerber Manufacturing Company, Inc., 1655 E.
<br />12th Street, Mishawaka, Indiana. Non collusion affidavit was found to be
<br />proper. The bid was accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of $6,000.00.
