3/2/70 <br />115. Any member of the fire forces who has received such <br />police training may be made a special police officer pursuant to <br />existing Indiana statutes and may then exercise the duties of a <br />special police officer while he is carrying on his duties as a <br />fireman. <br />116. The Board of Public Works and Safety shall from time <br />to time make and promulgate rules and regulations for the <br />government of firemen manning patro-1 cars and also of firemen <br />who have been appointed special police officers. The duties of <br />firemen assigned to patrol cars.shail include, but not be <br />limited to, the following: to respond to all fire alarms <br />coming from their primary response districts; to keep a lookout <br />for fires and unusual fire hazards; to make periodic inspections <br />of buildings and businesses within their patrol areas, such as <br />filling stations, supermarkets and the like, to check on com- <br />pliance with fire regulations; to report any suspicious or unusual <br />activities observed within their patrol areas to the police <br />department; to report any street defects or unsafe conditions: <br />observed to the street department; when not on a fire call, to <br />report to the scene of any automobile accident which occurs in <br />their patrol area and assist the police forces by directing <br />traffic or otherwise; to assist in the enforcement of traffic <br />regulations to the extent time permits. <br />"7. Bussert. <br />PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS APPROVED <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION ADOPTED <br />NOTICE OF HEARING <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3309 1970 - FELLOWS STREET SEWER - WALTERS TO BARBIE <br />Clyde E. Williams and Associates, Inc., file with the Board preliminary plans, <br />estimates and preliminary improvement resolution for the improvement of Fellows <br />Street, from Walters Street north to the existing manhole approximately 180 feet <br />south of Barbie Street, by constructing a local sewer. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approves said plans <br />specifications and improvement resolution, and sets March 30, 1970, at:9:30 A.M., <br />at 1308 County City Building, as the time and place for hearing all persons whose <br />property may be affected by such proposed improvement. <br />And the Clerk is directed to give notice by publ-ication in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri County News on the 6th day of March and the 13th day of <br />March, 1970. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned <br />at 3:40 P.m. <br />ATTEG )�-'a <br />s <br />Clerk <br />1 <br />
