434 <br />Special Meeting September 1, 1972 <br />A Special Meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened on <br />Friday, September 1, 1972 at 2:00 P.M. All members were present. <br />The meeting was called for the purpose of taking action on a proposal <br />to straighten the intersection of Notre Dame Avenue and Sorin Street. - <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried the Board agreed upon <br />an offer to purchase two pieces of property, namely: <br />Also: <br />Lots Number 23 and 24 as shown on the recorded plat of <br />Lederer and Longley's Subdivision of Out Lot 1 in Samuel <br />Cottrell's Addition to the Town of Lowell, now a part <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana from Fredna McPherson, <br />Raymond E Shanafield and Margaret G. Shanafiefd, his wife. <br />Lot numbered 25 as shown on the recorded Plat of Lederer <br />and Longley's Subdivision of Out Lot 1 in Samuel L. <br />Cottrell's Addition to the Town of Lowell now within and <br />a part of the City of South Bend, Indiana, from Aktive Sales <br />and Service, Inc., an; -Indiana Corporation. <br />The matter is now referred to the Legal Department for appropriate Action. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE HASS DRIVE <br />A request was received, containing twenty six signatures, ask$ng permission <br />to Close Hass Drive from Kettering to Rose Streets from 1:00 to 7:00 P.M. <br />on Monday, September 4, 1972 for a block party. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the request was granted. <br />APPOINT APPRAISERS FOR CITY OWNED PROPERTY <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board appointed Reginald <br />Howard and Philip Oestreicher as appraisers for excess property of the <br />city. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the meeting s adjoured at 2:45 P.M. <br />arles A. ney, Jr. <br />James Bar come <br />ATTEST: <br />A7, <br />Clerk <br />William J^ ichardson <br />
