3 454 <br />Special Meeting June 30, 1972 <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was held <br />on Friday, .tune 30, 1972 at 1:30 P.M. Present were Mr. James'V. <br />Barcome and Mr. William J. Richardson, Members of the Board. <br />The meeting was called for the purpose of taking action on the <br />following letter addressed to Mr. Sweeney: <br />June 27, 1972 <br />Mr. Charles A. Sweeney, Jr. <br />Attorney At Law <br />1221 St. Joseph Bank Building, <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Re: East Monroe Street <br />Dear Chuck: <br />This will serve to confirm our conversation of June, 27, 1972. <br />As I indicated to you during the course of our aforesaid conversation <br />the residents of East Monroe Street in South Bend, Indiana are inter- <br />ested in holding their annual 'Block Party" on Monday, July 3, 1972 <br />Accordingly, we would appreciate the cooperation of the appropriate <br />personnel from the South Bend City Administration, in permitting us <br />to block off traffic on East Monroe Street from 6:00 P.M. - 1:00 <br />A.M. on the aforesaid date. We would also request that we be provided <br />with the necessary barricades which we will, of course, be most <br />happy to set up and take down. <br />We appreciate your cooperation and assistance with this matter and <br />as a former resident of East Monroe Street, we would hereby extend to you <br />otUr invitation to have you attend this event. <br />Very sincerely yours, <br />TCS:ds s/ Thomas C.
