182 <br />1/17172 <br />REQUEST AMERICAN NATIONAL BANK - TRAILERS <br />Mr. Forest West, Building Commissioner presented a letter from the American <br />National Bank in which they stated an affiliate firm, American Affiliates, <br />Incorporated is holding a mobile home seminar in their offices in the Amer- <br />ican National Bank Building January 18 and 19 and have requested permission <br />to park three mobile homes on the vacant lot adjacent to and just west of <br />the building. There would be no hook up to any sort of utilities. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of the American National Bank for their affiliate American Affil- <br />iates, Incorporated for parking three trailers. <br />LETTER RE: JUNKED CAR - SHIRLEY HUNT <br />A letter was received from Legal Services - Legal Education Program, signed <br />by Norma J. Fleming, Staff Assistant, regarding a junked car (1964 Studebaker) <br />which was impounded. Mrs. Hunt claims she does not own the car. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, this matter was referred to the <br />Legal Department. <br />CERTIFICATION OF CORPORATE AUTHORITY - SAFETY DEPOSIT BOXES <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend presently rents two safety deposit <br />boxes for the use of the City Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund and the City of <br />South Bend (Engineering Department -official Micro -Films), and <br />WHEREAS, the St. Joseph Safe Deposit Company, Inc., must have the <br />ceatification of Corporate Authority for persons to have access to said <br />safety deposit boxes, now therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, That James V. Barcome, City Controller and William <br />J. Richardson, City Engineer, be empowered to have access to the above <br />named safety deposit boxes as of, January 13, 1972. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the above resolution was adopted. <br />CONTRACTOR'S BONDS <br />A Contractor's bond was presented for William Cinal to December 30, 1972. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the above bond was approved. <br />A Continuation Certificate for a Contractor's Bond for From Building Co. <br />till January 1, 1972 was present. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the above bond was approved. <br />EXCAVATION BONDS: <br />The following Excavation Bonds were presented and upon motion made, seconded, <br />and carried, were approved: <br />Marion Hamilton G Sons, Inc. to January 1, 1973 <br />Wendal F. Daze]] to January 12, 1973 <br />REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHT - WIDENER LANE <br />A request was received from Everett D. Fox, 837 Widener Lane, South Bend, <br />Indiana, requesting the installation of a street light on an existing pole <br />between 910 and 837 Widener Lane. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried this matter was referred to the <br />Engineering Department - Traffic Engineer - for investigation and report. <br />COMPLAINT RELATIVE TO "COP AND CON" PROGRAM <br />Mr. Si Brazy,1136 Helmen Drive, South Bend, Indiana, appeared before the Board <br />protesting the stoppage of the"Cop and the Con" program. He was referred to <br />Chief of Police Robert Seals, to discuss the matter. <br />
