144 <br />12/6/71 <br />#2 - southeast corner of Michigan and LaSalle Streets <br />#3 - southwest corner of Michigan and Western Avenue <br />#4 - northeast corner of Wayne and Carroll Streets <br />said lease providing for rental at the rate of $10.00 per month per lot. <br />REQUEST TO INSTALL GUARD RAIL - RADIO FURNITURE MART <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board denied the re- <br />quest of Radio Furniture Mart to install a guard rail at 919 S. Michigan <br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, for the reason that such a rail would extend <br />into public property, and create a hazard. <br />REQUEST TO SELL CHRISTMAS TREES - FRANK PERRI <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of Frank Perri, 306 E. <br />Broadway; Mishawaka, Indiana, to sell Christmas trees on South Logan Street <br />from December 1 through December 24, 1971, was referred to the Legal Depart- <br />ment for appropriate action. <br />REQUEST TO SELL CHRISTMAS TREES - GEORGE M. RANKEL <br />George M. Rankel appeared before the Board and requested permission to sell <br />Christmas trees on the southeast corner of Michigan and Chippewa Streets. <br />Mr. Bickel moved the request be approved. The motion died for lack of a <br />second. Mr. Crumpacker moved that•the request be referred to the Legal De- <br />partment for review and recommendation. The motion was seconded and <br />unanimously carried. <br />REQUEST OF MATHEWS, PURUCKER & ASSOCIATES, INC. TO INSTALL LIGHT POLLS ON <br />MICHIGAN AND JEFFERSON STREETS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the request of Mathews, <br />Purucker and Associates, Inc., for permission to install light poles on <br />Michigan Street and Jefferson Boulevard at the Sherland Building, was re- <br />ferred to the Department of Redevelopment for their consideration. <br />STREET LIGHTING APPROVED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />following as recommended by the Traffic Engineering Department: <br />An additional street light on Luelda Street between the existing light <br />and Chippewa, at a cost of $3.75 per month. <br />Increased light at the alley intersection between Grace and Huron Streets, <br />west of Olive Street at a cost of $2.00 per month. <br />CONTRACTORS' BONDS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved <br />certificates continuing contractors' bonds as follows: <br />Charles Kopsea and William Ipe - to I/l/73. <br />Steve P. Ross - to 1/l/73. <br />EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved <br />the following: <br />Excavation bond for Charles F. Stickler - to 11/29/72. <br />Continuation certificates -for: <br />Ideal Consolidated, Inc. - to 1/ 1/73. <br />Richard Powers - to 1/ 1/73. <br />Stanley E. Wesolowski - to 1/ 1/73. <br />Woodruff & Sons, Inc. - to 11/ 2/72. <br />
