3 3 <br />7/1:2/7t <br />COMPLAINT - FREDERICK K. BAER <br />Frederick K. Baer, attorney, 502 First Bank Building, South Bend, Indiana, <br />appeared before the Board. Mr. Baer explained he represents the Altman <br />Sprinkling Company, a sub -contractor for the Cable Construction Company <br />employed by the Indiana Bell Telephone Company to lay a cable on Ironwood <br />Drive; that the Cable Construction Company has failed to•pay the Altman <br />Sprinkling Company for its services and that the Indiana Bell Telephone <br />Company has also refused to accept any responsibility for payment, and <br />asked that the Board intervene with the Indiana Bell Telephone Company. <br />It was the consensus of the Board that it was a matter between private <br />contractors and not within the province of the Board of Public Works and <br />Safety. <br />COMPLAINT - MRS. DAVID WHITMER <br />A letter from Mrs. David Whitmer, 1905 S. Chapin Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />in reference to an inspection of the property at 1905 S. Chapin Street was <br />read and referred to the Sub -Standards Director for reply. <br />STREET LIGHT PETITION - N. JO HNSON STREET <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, a petition for a street light in <br />the 600 block of N. Johnson Street, signed by Al Moskwinski, 641 N. Johnson <br />Street, and 15 others, filed with the Board by Councilman Walter Szymkowiak, <br />was referred to the Traffic Engineering Department for study and recommenda- <br />tion. <br />STREET LIGHT PETITION - N. KENTUCKY STREET <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, a petition for a street light <br />in the 1100 block of N. Kentucky Street, signed by Dale Kollar, 1109 N. <br />Kentucky Street and 21 others, was referred to the Traffic Engineering <br />Department for study and recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHTING - LOGAN STREET <br />Traffic Engineering Department reports an investigation has been made re- <br />garding street lighting on Logan Street and that the City of Mishawaka <br />has agreed to install street lights at the intersection of Logan and Wail <br />Street and the intersection of Logan and Hastings Street. <br />PETITION FOR STOP SIGNS - BERGAN AND ELMER STREETS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, a petition for stop signs at the <br />intersection of Bergan and Elmer Streets, signed by Mrs. Curtis Leeper, <br />2304 Bergan Street, and 29 others, was referred to the Traffic Engineering <br />Department for study and recommendation. <br />PARKING RESTRICTIONS APPROVED - N. CARLISLE, ETC. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommenda- <br />tion of the Traffic Engineering Department to prohibit parking on the east <br />side of the 100 and 200 blocks of N. Carlisle Street, N. Sadie Street, <br />N. Huey Street, N. O'Brien Street and N. Jackson Street. <br />CONTRACTORS' BONDS APPROVED <br />The following contractors' bonds were approved and ordered filed: <br />for James Kruszynski - commencing 7/8/71 <br />for Valley Construction Company, Inc. - commencing 7/6/71 <br />EXCAVATION BOND APPROVED <br />Excavation bond for John W. Wynens, d/b/a Wynen's Lawn Sprinkler System, <br />commencing 7/1/71, was approved and ordered filed. <br />
