1. 2 <br />Special Meeting - June 8, 1971 <br />A special meeting of the Board of:?ublic Works and Safety convened at 7:30 <br />P.M. on June 8, 1971, in Room 1308 County City Building. Present were S. J. <br />Crumpacker, City Attorney, and James A. Bickel, City Controller. Mr. <br />Crumpacker acted as chairman of the meeting. <br />Also present was Jerry Phipps of Clyde E. Williams and Associates, Inc., con- <br />sulting engineers. <br />HEARING ON IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3339, 1971 - EAST FARNEMAN STREET SEWER <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on Improvement Resolution No. <br />3339, 1971 for the improvement of East Farneman Street from 200 feet east of <br />Fellows Street to the dead end by constructing a local sewer. <br />Proofs of publication ol.:notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County <br />News on May 14 and May 21, 1971, were read and found to be sufficient. <br />After hearing all who wished to speak, a standing vote of those present <br />indicated 10 persons against the construction of the sewer and one person <br />in favor of the sewer. <br />The Chairman stated that remonstrances may be filed with the Clerk of the <br />Board until the close of business at 4:45 P.M. on June 18, 1971, or postmarked <br />before midnight on June 18, 1971. <br />HEARING ON IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3340, 1971 - EAST -WEST ALLEY BETWEEN <br />MCKINLEY AND LASALLE, FROM TWYCKENHAM TO GREENLAWN <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on Improvement Resolution No. 3340, <br />1971, for the improvement of the alley between LaSalle Avenue and McKinley <br />Avenue, from Twyckenham Drive to Greenlawn Avenue, by constructing a Class C, <br />Type I pavement. <br />Proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri <br />County News on May 14 and May 21, 1971, were read and found to be sufficient. <br />After hearing all who wished to speak, a standing vote of those present <br />indicated nine persons in favor of paving the alley and 13 against paving <br />the alley. <br />The Chairman stated that remonstrances may be filed with the Clerk of the Board <br />until the close of business at 4:45 P.M. on June 18, 1971, or postmarked be- <br />fore midnight on June 18, 1971, and that no remonstrances filed before the <br />meeting this evening, June 8, 1971, will be accepted. <br />HEARING ON IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3341, 1971 - IRONWOOD DRIVE SIDEWALK <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on Improvement Resolution No. 3341, <br />1971 for the improvement of North Ironwood Drive, from Bader Avenue to Corby Street, <br />by constructing a public sidewalk. <br />Proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on May <br />21 and May 28, 1971, were read and found to be proper. <br />After hearing all who wished to speak, a standing vote of those present indi- <br />cated 18 persons against the construction of a sidewalk and two persons in <br />favor of a sidewalk. <br />The Chairman stated that remonstrances may be filed with the Clerk of the Board <br />until the close of business at 4:45 P.M, on June 18, 1971, or postmarked before <br />midnight on June 18, 1971, and that no remonstrance filed before the meeting <br />this evening, June 8, 1971, will be accepted. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned <br />at 9:50 P.M. <br />J.
