NOV EMB ER 19 , 1973 <br />REGULAR MEETING — <br />UNION CONTRACTS SIGNED — BUREAU OF SANITATION AND BUREAU OF WATER <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved and executed <br />Agreements between the Board of Public Works on behalf of the Civil City of <br />South Bend and Teamsters, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen and Helpers of America, <br />Local Union No. 364, representing the members of the Bureau of Sanitation and <br />the Bureau of Water - Meter and Distribution Departments and Construction and <br />Maintenance Departments. This Agreement shall be in effect to and including <br />April 30, 1976 and copies are on file in the Office of the Board of Public Works. <br />LETTER FROM INDIANA STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION RE: R & S FUNDING <br />The Board received a letter from the Indiana State Highway Commission regarding <br />proposed use of the R it S Fund, on a 90-10 basis, until July 1, 1974. A form <br />to be completed and returned to the Commission was also received. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the Board authorized Rollin E. Farrand, Director of <br />Public Works, to complete and sign the form and return it to the Indiana State <br />Highway Commission. <br />REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHTS <br />-�i <br />Additional street lights on Huron Street, between Olive and Phillipa, Phillipa <br />and Carlisle, and Carlisle and Warren, were requested by Councilman Walter <br />Kopczynski. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request was referred <br />to'the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for investigation and recommendation. <br />APPROVAL OF BONDS <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, recommended to the Board approval of <br />the following bonds: <br />McIntyre & Jones - Excavation Bond to 12/31/74 <br />McIntyre & Jones - Contractor's Bond to 12/31/74 <br />Marathon Oil Company - Contractor's Bond to 12/1/74 <br />Van Overberghe Builders, Inc. - Contractor's Bond to 7/10/74 <br />Aulm Construction Company - Contractor's Bond to 1/l/74 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the bonds to the dates <br />listed. <br />APPROVAL OF PLANS AND TITLE SHEET FOR SOLUBLE OIL DISPOSAL FACILITY <br />The Board, upon motion made, seconded and carried, signed the title sheet approving <br />plans for the soluble oil disposal facility at the Wastewater Treatment Plant <br />and will request that the Board of.Wastewater Commissioners advertise for bids <br />for the project. <br />APPROVAL OF PLANS AND TITLE SHEET - ACCESS ROAD BETWEEN SUMMIT DR. AND MAYFLOWER <br />Mr. Farrand explained that this is a local sewer project of the Colpaert Company <br />and will be installed in the right-of-way of the access road. The work will be <br />done by Colpaert's at no cost to the City, but the City must approve the plans <br />and inspect the construction. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />signed the title sheet approving the plans. <br />APPROVAL OF PLANS AND TITLE SHEET - SEWER CREST MANOR SECTIONS 5 AND 6 <br />Mr. Farrand explained to the Board that this sewer will be constructed by the <br />developer, Crest Manor Development Corporation, in Sections 5 and 6. The City <br />must approve the plans and inspect the construction. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the Board signed the title sheet approving the plans. <br />APPROVAL TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - JANITORIAL SERVICES MSF FACILITY <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved a request to <br />advertise for bids for Janitorial Services for the Municipal Services Facility, <br />including the jail area, for the period of February 1, 1974 through January 31, <br />1975. An alternate bid for 1974, submitted by Eder -Bailie with their 1973 bid, <br />was discussed and will be held pending receipt of bids. Bids will be advertised <br />on November 23 and November 30, with bids to be received on December 3, 1973. <br />
