1406 <br />REGULAR'MEETING NOVEMBER 13, 1973 <br />DENIAL OF REQUEST FOR PARKING PLACARDS <br />The Board received a recommendation from Clem Haz'inski, Manager of the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting, that a request from the County Building Department <br />for seven parking placards to be used for parking on Lafayette Street at meters <br />until 9:30 a.m., be denied since this would not be in accord with the parking <br />meter ordinance. if this request were granted, parking privileges would have to <br />be accorded to other governmental agencies and the purpose of parking meters for <br />the public would be defeated. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />Board accepted Mr. Hazinski's recommendation and denied the request. <br />APPROVAL TO SCRAP POLICE DEPARTMENT VEHICLES <br />The Board received a request from Police Chief Robert J. Urban for permission to <br />declare as scrap a three wheel motorcycle and a squad car so that parts can be <br />used for repair of other vehicles. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />recommendation was approved and the vehicles, Mechanical #6 and Mechanical #36, <br />were ordered scrapped. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage report for the period of October 26-through November 7 <br />was received and ordered filed. <br />APPROVAL OF STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS <br />The Board received the following recommendations for street light installations: <br />A. Grant Street and Davis Drive. <br />Install 9 7,000L MV OH WP @ $3.75 - $33.75/mo. or $405.00/yr. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the <br />installation. <br />B. Preston, McKinley, Woodcliff and Corby. <br />Install 11 7,000L MV OH WP @ $3.50/mo. - $38.50 <br />Install 32 7,000L MV OH WP @ $3.75/mo. - 114.50 <br />Remove 12 4,000L MV OH WP @ $2.60 - 31.20 <br />Cost - $121.80/mo. or $1,461.60/yr. - <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the <br />'installation. <br />C. Southeast, Ridgedale and Caroline <br />Install 16 7,000L MV OH WP @ $3.50 - $56.00 <br />Install 19 7,000L MV OH WP @ $3.75 - $71.25 <br />Remove 16 7,000L MV OH WP @ $2.60 - $41.60 <br />Cost - $85.65/mo, or $1,027.80/yr. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the installation. <br />D. Mid -block light, Dunham Street <br />Cost - $3.75/mo. or $45.00/yr. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the installation. <br />E. River Avenue, south of Bronson <br />Install 1 7,000L MV.OH WP @ $3.75/yr. or $45.00/yr. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the installation. <br />F. 800, 900 and 1000 Blocks Fairview <br />Install 7 7,000L TRAD. @ $12.25 - $85.75 <br />Remove 3 7,000L MV OH WP @ $3.50 - $10.50 <br />Remove 2 7,000L MV OH WP @ $3.75 - 7.50 <br />Cost - $67.75/mo. or $813.00/yr. <br />The Board, upon motion made,.seconded and carried, approved the <br />installation. <br />
