REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 8, 1973 <br />REPORT ON SEWER BLOCKAGE AT 116 WEST SOUTH STREET <br />The Board received a letter from Rollin E. Farrand, City Engineer, concerning <br />the report of damage to a sewer at 116 West South Street during the South Main <br />Street construction. Mr. Farrand reported that the investigation revealed that <br />the sewer was cut during the installation of a signal pole. Mr. Morgan Peck <br />has been instructed to reconnect the house service to the sewer in South Street <br />and the work should be completed during the week of October 1, 1973. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the letter was ordered filed. <br />REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF ADVERTISING <br />Mrs. Mardella Hensler, Panel -Al franchise holder, requested approval of the Board <br />to accept advertising material for the United Way Campaign and Westinghouse <br />Appliances for the Panel -Ad trash containers. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Board approved the advertising. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of 9/27/73 to 10/3/73 was received <br />and ordered filed. <br />COMPLAINT - CONDITION OF RAILROAD TRACKS ON NILES AVENUE <br />Miss Virginia Guthrie called the attention of the Board to the condition of the <br />railroad crossing near the Street Department building on Niles Avenue. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the Board directed that Mr. Donald Decker, <br />Bureau of Streets, investigate the matter of getting the crossing repaired. <br />RIDGEDALE AND MIAMI INTERSECTION <br />Mr. Barcome requested that attention be given to the dangerous condition at the <br />Ridgedale-Miami intersection. He said increased traffic generated by the Mall <br />.has caused a problem and high speeds have caused several acc$ddnts. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the matter was referred to the Department of Public <br />Works for immediate investigation and recommendation. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned at 10:20 a.m. <br />J s R.
