REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 24, 1973 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m. on <br />Monday, September 24, 1973 with all members present. Mr. James A. Roemer, City <br />Attorney, was also present. Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and <br />approved. <br />AWARDING OF CONTRACT - IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3381, 1973 <br />The Board received a recommendation from the Bureau of Design and Administration <br />that the contract"for concrete paving of the alley bounded by Oakwood Blvd., <br />Berkley Place, Beverly Place, Inglewood Place and Lathrop Street, authorized <br />by Improvement Resolution No. 3381, 1973, be awarded to the McIntyre & Jones <br />Construction Company, Inc, on their low bid of $10,005.74. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the bid was awarded to McIntyre & Jones Construction Co., Tnc. <br />AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATION - ALLEY BETWEEN COLFAX AND WASHINGTON <br />The Board received a favorable recommendation from the Area Plan Commission in <br />regard to the petition to vacate the alley between Colfax Avenue and Washington <br />Street, from Notre Dame Avenue West to the east right-of-way line of the north - <br />south alley between Lots No. 307 and 308, Cottrell's ist Addition. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the Board ordered the recommendation filed and <br />referred the petition to the Bureau of Engineering for the preparation of the <br />Vacation Resolution. <br />AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATION - VACATION OF A PORTION OF KERR STREET <br />The Board received a favorable recommendation from the Area Plan Commission in <br />regard to the petition to vacate Kerr Street beginning at the west right-of-way <br />line of Catalpa Street and the North right-of-way of Kerr Street, thence West to <br />the Western end of Kerr Street, thence 50' south to the south right-of-way of <br />Kerr Street, thence East to a point 50' south of the point of beginning. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board ordered the recommendation filed <br />and referred the petition to the Bureau of Engineering for the preparation of the <br />Vacation Resolution. <br />AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATION - GRAND TRUNK WESTERN RAILROAD <br />The Board received a favorable recommendation from the Area Plan Commission in <br />regard to the petition to vacate a portion of the north -south alley between St. <br />Peter Street and Notre Dame Avenue from the south right-of-way line of the <br />Grand Trunk Railroad and a portion of the north -south alley between St. Louis <br />and St. Peter Street which lies between the south line of the Grand Trunk Western <br />right-of-way line of the Grand Trunk Western Railroad to the south line of the <br />first east -west alley south of Wayne Street. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Board ordered the -recommendation filed and referred the petition <br />to the Bureau of Engineering for the preparation of the Vacation Resolution. <br />RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY BETWEEN HILL AND ST. LOUIS <br />The Board received a recommendation from the Bureau of Design and Administration <br />that they have no objections to the vacation of the east -west alley between Hill <br />Street and St. Louis Street from the east right-of-way line of Hill Street to <br />the west right-of-way line of the north -south alley between Colfax and Washington <br />Streets. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the petition <br />to the Area Plan Commission for their review and recommendation. <br />APPROVAL OF TRANSFER OF TAXI LICENSE - ROBERT TUTOROW TO PHYLLIS FRAZIER <br />The Board received a letter from Police Chief Robert J. Urban that his Department <br />had investigated the background of Phyllis Frazier and could find nothing that was <br />detrimental. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the <br />transfer of Courtesy Cab Company License #16 to Phyllis Frazier, subject to the <br />Controller's Office securing the necessary forms and collecting the necessary fee. <br />C <br />
