REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 20, 1973 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works convened at 10:40 a.m. on <br />Tuesday, February 20, 1973 with all members present. Minutes of the last <br />meeting were reviewed and approved. <br />ADOPTION OF VACATION RESOLUTION - ALLEY BETWEEN MEADE AND FREMONT STREETS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the following resolution was adopted: <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3376, 1973 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />That it is desirable to vacate the following: <br />The north -south alley between Meade Street and Fremont Street <br />running north from Bertrand Street to the south r/w line of the <br />east -west alley, and the north r/w'line of east -west alley to <br />the south r/w line of Roger Street. <br />Reserving the rights and easements of all Utilities and the Municipal City <br />of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and maintain any facilities, including, <br />but not limited to the following: electric, telephone, gas, water, sewer, <br />surface water control structures and ditches, within the vacated right of <br />way, unless such rights are released by the individual Utilities. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such <br />vacation: <br />Lots 229 and 228 of Kaley's 3rd Addition and <br />Lots 204 and 205 of Kaley's 2nd Sub. <br />Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 23rd day of February <br />and the 2nd day of March, 1973 in the South Bend Tribune and in the Tri- <br />County News. <br />This Board, at its office, on the 12th day of March, 1973, at 9:30 o'clock <br />A.M. will hear and receive remonstrances from all.persons interested in <br />or affected by these proceedings. <br />Adopted this 20th day of February, 1973. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ William J. Barcome <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />REOUEST FROM LION'S INTERNATIONAL TO HOLD PARADE <br />The Board received the following letter: <br />Department of Public Works & Safety <br />City/County Building <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 Attention: Mr. Clem Hazinski <br />Gentlemen: <br />The Lions clubs from all over the State of Indiana will be gathering <br />in South Bend April 27, 28, and 29, 1973. The annual State convention <br />is being hosted in South Bend jointly by all the Lions Clubs of St. Joseph <br />valley. <br />On Saturday, April 28, 1973 at 2:30 p.m., we would like to hold a <br />parade in downtown South Bend. The parade route will probably start and <br />the staging area would be at South Street and Lafayette Street and <br />terminate on Lafayette Street north of LaSalle Street. <br />
