December 26, 1972 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at <br />9:30 A.M., ;on Tuesday, December 26, 1973. All members were present. <br />Minutes of the last meeting were reviewed and approved. <br />Mr. Sweeney made mention of the fact that this was the last Board <br />Meeting Mrs. Noble would participate in, and the Board thanked her <br />for her help and work. They also welcomed Mrs. Patricia DeClercq <br />as the new Clerk. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />SPECIAL POLICE BOND APPROVED FOR EDWARD CHARLES HERMANN <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved a Special <br />Police Bond for Edward Charles Hermann. <br />POLICE APPLICATIONS <br />Applications for the Police Department were received from William H. <br />Bond and Thomas J. Warner. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />r-q applications were ordered filed with the Deparment of Personnel. <br />0 <br />RESIGNATIONS OF RICHARD ORBAN AND RON RHODES FROM CADET PROGRAM <br />U <br />Upon moti on made, seconded and carried, the resignations from the <br />Police Cadet Program of Richard Orban and Ron Rhoades was approved <br />by 'the Board. Upon the recommendation of the Chief this is to be <br />effective January 1, 1972. <br />RESIGATION OFTHOMAS J. TURZA FROM POLICE CADET PROGRAM <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the resignation from the Police <br />Cadet Program, effective December 19, 1972, was approved by the Board. <br />REINSTATEMENT OF WILLIAM HEDL TO CADET PROGRAM <br />The following letter was received by the Board: <br />December 19, 1972 <br />Board of Public Works and Safety <br />County City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana, <br />Gentlemen: <br />William S. Hedl has requested re -instatement as a Police Cadet with <br />the South Bend Police Department. Cadet Hedl has completed six month's <br />active duty with the United States Air Force Reserve for which he <br />was granted leave in June, 1972. <br />We respectfully request that Cadet Hedl be restored to active duty <br />in the Cadet Program to become effective January 1, 1973. <br />Respectfully, <br />s/ Robert W. Seals, Chief of Police <br />RWS:mm <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommen- <br />dation of the Chief and re -instated Cadet William S. Hedl to the Cadet <br />Program as of January 1, 1973. <br />STATISTICAL REPORT FILED <br />The Statistical Report for the month of November, 1972 was presented <br />to the Board and ordered filed. <br />
