November 27, 1972
A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was called
to order at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, November 27, 1972, by Charles A. Sweeney,
Jr_., President.
Because the National Conference of City and Towns is meeting this week
in Indianapolis, Indiana, we find two of the three members of the Board
of Public Works and Safety in attendance. Without a quorum, the only
business the Board will conduct this morning is to acknowledge the
receipt of bids, which bids will be held unopeneded until the next
regularly scheduled meeting on December 4, 1972, at whhich time the bids
will be opened and read.'
Acknowledgement is also made of three bids from the Standard Oil Company,
and two bids from the American Oil Company for gasoline and fuel oil to
supply the city. These bids will be held and opened at the December 4,
1972 meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety.
REQUEST TO SOLICIT FUNDS AND GIFTS
Mr. Merle McLean requested that the Citizen's Band Radio Operators of
Michiana be permitted to solicit gifts and money to put on a party for
the underprivlleged children of the Community, and Mr. Sweeney asked
that this be referred to the Charitable Solicitations Committee for an
immediate determination, as the date of the proposed party is December
17, 1972 at Stepan Center. „
Charles A.
