October 30, 1972 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 9:30 A.M., on Monday, October 30, 1972. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were.read and approved. FIRE DEPARTMENT Battalion Chief Wilson was present at the meeting. The following letter was received from Chief Bland: October 27, 1972 Board of Public Works and Safety 13th Floor County City Building South Bend, Indiana Re: Explosive / Incendiary School, Honorable Members of the Board: Attached hereto please find a letter from Battalion Chief William H. Wilson, Jr. requesting permission to send four of his inspectors to the above named school for three days. The cost will be $120.00 to the.Department, which we are prepared to cover. Bland 701 West Sample Street South Bend, Indiana Re: Explosive/Incendiary School Dear Chief Bland: I would like to request permission for four (4) of our men from the Fire Prevention Bureau to attend the Explosive/Incediary Device School being held on November 8,9 and 10 at Camp Atterbury, Edinburg, Indiana. Registration fee will be $30.00. This will include lodging, breakfast and lunch. Transportation will be furnished by a municipally owned vehicle. The men I would like to attend this school are as follows: Lt. Robert Janowiak; Lt. Louis Burzynski; Lt. Louis Kovach and Lt. Richard Klemczewski. Respectfully yours, WHWjr/rlp. s/ William H.
