September 11., 1972 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at <br />9:30 A.M., on Monday, September 11, 1972. All members were present. <br />Minutes of the last meeting were reviewed and approved. <br />BIDS ON STORM SEWER EXTENSION - IRELAND ROAD <br />This being the date set for receiving bids for R&S 40 (A) Ireland Road <br />Storm sewer Extension, the following bids were opened and read: <br />IHowell Construction Company, Inc. <br />111 East Windsor Street <br />Elkhart, Indiana, 46514 <br />Non Collusion Affidavit and bid bond in an amount of 5% of the bid <br />accompanied bid. Bid was not read item by item, but was open for <br />inspection to any interested person. <br />Total bid $9,257.00 <br />0 <br />M <br />1 <br />Haskins, Inc. <br />64704 U.S. #31 <br />Lakeville, Indiana <br />Non -collusion affidavit was found to be in proper,' -order and a bid bond <br />in an amount of 5% of the bid accompanied the bid. Bit was not read <br />item by item, but the chairman announced bid was open for inspection <br />to any one interested. <br />Total bid $7,400.50 <br />Non -collusion affidavit was found to be in proper order and a bid bond <br />in an amount of 5% of the bid accompanied the bid. Bid was not read <br />item by item but the bid was open for inspection to any interested <br />person. <br />Total bid $8,630.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to the <br />Bureau of Engineering for tabulation. <br />BIDS FOR SALT FOR CONTROLLING SNOW AND ICE <br />This being the date set for receiving bids for salt for snow removal <br />for the Street Department the following bids were opened and read: <br />Domtar Chemicals, Inc. <br />Sifto Salt Division <br />9950 W. Lawrence Avenue <br />Schiller Park, Ill. 60176 <br />A non -collusion affidavit was found to -be in proper order and a certified <br />check in the amount of $13,548.00°accompanied the bid. <br />12,000 Tons Salt for snow & ice removal 11.29 T $135,480.00 <br />Morton Salt Company, <br />10335 Flora Street <br />Detroit, Michigan 48209 <br />A non -collusion affidavit was found to\ be in proper order and a bid bond <br />in the amount of $23,040.00 accompanie \,bid. <br />12,000 Tons or less Morton Rock Safe-T-Salt 11.80 T $141,600.00 <br />
