REGULAR MEETING JUNE 16, 1975 <br />ENGINEERING AGREEMENT APPROVED - STREET IMPROVEMENTS, MIAMI STREET <br />FROM JACKSON ROAD TO KERN ROAD <br />An Engineering Agreement with Clyde E. Williams & Associates, Inc. <br />for engineering for the improvement of Miami Street from Jackson <br />Road to Kern Road a distance of approximately one mile including <br />the channelization and signalization at the intersections of <br />Jackson and Kern Roads was submitted to the Board. Mr. Farrand <br />said the funding has been approved. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and ca-ried, the agreement was approved. <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA APPLICATIONS APPROVED <br />Louis Wilcox, Director of River Bend Plaza, submitted the following <br />applications to the Board with his favorable recommendation: <br />United States Army - Display Booth, June 25, 26 and 27 <br />Public Transportation Corporation — Display, June 16-20 <br />South Bend Junior Chess Championship - July 12 <br />Princess Fireworks - Sale of Legal Fireworks - June 20-July 4 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Bord approved the <br />applications subject to the filing of insurance and licensing <br />where applicable. <br />CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE FILED - RECYCLING SERVICES <br />A Certificate of Insurance for Recycling Services at 816 S. Phillipa <br />Street was submitted to the Board. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the Certificate was ordered filed. <br />BONDS APPROVED <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, recommended approval of the <br />following bonds: <br />Contractor's Bond for Walsh & Kelly to 9/12/75 <br />Contractor's Bond for Valley Construction Co. to 7/6/76 <br />Contractor's Bond for Floyd J. & Al Wachowiak, Inc. to 12/31/75 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bonds were approved to <br />the dates listed. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of June 9 through <br />June 13 was received and, upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />was ordered filed. <br />PARADE REQUEST DENIED <br />The Board received a request from ABATE for a parade of motor- <br />cyclists on Sunday, June 29 at 12:00 Noon. The motorcyclists would <br />ride without helmets to the downtown Post Office, from Michiana <br />Honda on U. S. 31, North. Captain Sweitzer of the Police Department <br />Traffic Detail recommended that the request be denied. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the Board denied the request, based <br />on Captain Sweitzer',s recommendation and also because they could <br />not approve a ride without helmets, which would be in violation of <br />the law. <br />■ <br />
