REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 3, 1975 <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended installation <br />of the following traffic control devices: <br />A Stop Sign on Marshall at Tuxedo <br />A Stop Sign on Edward Street at Kemble <br />Upon motion made, seconded.and carried, the installations were <br />approved. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE NAVARRE STREET ON MAY 2 AND 3 DENIED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting reviewed a request of the Junior <br />League to close NavarreStreeton May 2 and 3, 1975 for a <br />press conference and exhibition of a rehabilitated house. The <br />Bureau recommended that the request not be approved, because <br />Navarre Street is an arterial street and the closing would mean <br />bus routes would have to be changed. This is the route used <br />for Police and Fire emergency vehicles and one way systems in the <br />Q area and the width of other streets would make it very difficult <br />�y to detour traffic. It has been the policy of the Bureau to deny <br />permission to close arterials or collector streets. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the request was denied. <br />GL7 <br />HOPE CHAPEL OF GOD PARADE APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting reviewed a request of the <br />Hope Chapel -Church of God to hold a parade on Saturday, June 7 <br />in connection with their Annual Bible School. The Bureau <br />recommended approval and the Police Department Traffic Department <br />concurred. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />approved the request, subject to the filing of liability insurance <br />with the Board to hold the City of South Bend harmless from any <br />liability action. <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3409, 1975 ADOPTED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the following resolution <br />was adopted: <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3409, 1975 <br />RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, that it is desirable to vacate the following: <br />Portions of Donald and Fox Streets, from Columbia east to Fellows <br />and the first east -west alley south of Bowman between Fellows and ' <br />Rush, and the north -south alley between Fellows and Push Streets <br />from Bowman to the aforesaid east -west alley,.and a portion of <br />Rush south from Bowman to the first east -west alley, City of South Bend. <br />Reserving the rights and easements of all Utilities and the <br />Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and maintain <br />any facilities, including, but not limited to, the following: <br />electric, telephone, gas, water, sewer, surface water control <br />structures and ditches, within the vacated right of way, unless <br />such rights are released by the individual Utilities. <br />The following properby may be injuriously or beneficially affected <br />by such vacation: <br />Lots 186 to 195 inclusive in Henry Studebaker Addition; Lots 230 <br />to 241 inclusive in Bowman's 6th Addition; Lots 185 to 176 <br />inclusive in Bowman's 5th Addition. <br />
