276 <br />REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 20, 1975 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m, on Monday, January 20, 1975 with all members present. <br />Deputy City Attorney Kathleen Cekanski was also present. Minutes <br />of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved. <br />PAYMENT REQUEST APPROVED, FIRE'STATION NO. 4 <br />Payment Request No. 4 for the construction of 'Fire Station No. 4 <br />was received from the Muia Construction Company. The request was <br />in the amount of $13,070.70. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the payment request was approved. <br />PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY FILED - ASSOCIATES BANCORP, INC. <br />Associates.Bancorp, Inc., by their attorney Jack C. Dunfee, files <br />their petition to vacate the east -west alley south of Ruskin Street, <br />from the west line of Lot 16 of G. W. Mikesell's First Addition to <br />the east line of a 14 foot north -south alley running south from <br />Hildreth Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />petition was filed and it was noted that it has been forwarded to <br />the Bureau of Design and Administration for preliminary review and <br />recommendation. <br />ST. JOSEPH RIVER RUN APPROVED <br />The Board received a report from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />regarding the request of the Michiana Watershed to hold their Fifth <br />Annual River Run on TZay 10, 1975. Mr. Hazinski reported that he <br />had conferred with Captain Sweitzer of the Police Traffic Detail <br />and Donald Germann, Civil Defense Director, and he recommended <br />approval, provided off-street parking is provided for contestants. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the <br />recommendation. <br />REPORT RE: CURB AT PARK LANE AND IIICIIIGA14 <br />The Board had received a complaint regarding a deteriorated curb <br />at the intersection of Park Lane and Michigan Street which was <br />referred to the Bureau of Streets for investigation. Donald Decker, <br />Dire.ctor.of the Division of Transportation, reported to the Board <br />that they plan to rebuild the curb at the intersection as soon as <br />the weather permits. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />report was ordered filed. <br />PAYMENT REQUEST NO. 39 APPROVED, WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT ADDITIONS <br />The Board received Payment Request No. 39 for the Wastewater Treat- <br />ment Plant Additions from Sollitt Construction Company in the amount <br />of $161,042.27. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Payment <br />Request was approved. <br />REQUEST FOR STUDEBAKER MUSEUM SIGNAGE ON PUBLIC STREETS APPROVED <br />Carl Tuveson was present representing the Studebaker Drivers Club. <br />They seek permission to place signs on the City streets at four <br />locations indicating the location of the Studebaker Museum location. <br />Clem Hazinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, was <br />present and one of the proposed signs was displayed. Mr. Hazinski <br />recommended approval of the request to post the signs at the <br />following locations: the corner of Marion and N. Main Street, the <br />corner of South Michigan and Bronson, the corner of South Main and <br />Bronson and the Corner of Lafayette and Bronson.
