REGULAR MEETING DECE11BER 9, 1974 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m, on Monday, December 9, 1974 with all members present. <br />Deputy City Attorney Kathleen Cekanski was also present. Minutes <br />of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved. <br />CONTRACT WITH E-RECT-0 FOR REMOVAL OF OVERHEAD CONVEYOR <br />The Board received a contract with E-Rect-0 for the removal of <br />the overhead conveyor and supports between two of the old Studebaker <br />Buildings near the Municipal Services Facility. Total amount of <br />the contract is to be $2,500.00. A Certificate of Insurance and <br />agreements from Avanti Motor Corporation, Newman & Altman, Inc., <br />Standard Surplus Company and South Bend Warehouse Corp. for ingress <br />and egress to the property were submitted to the Board. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the Agreement subject <br />to the addition of Paragraph 10 as follows: 10. Total Amount of the <br />Contract to be $2,500.00. and subject also to E-Rect-0, Inc. filing <br />with the Board a Certificate of Insurance for the year 1975, in the <br />event the work is not completed by the end of this year. Upon motion <br />made, esconded and carried, the Certificate of Insurance and the <br />ingress and egress agreements were filed. <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTED FOR SALE OF LAND TO DEPT. OF REDEVELOPMENT <br />A Resolution for the sale of land from the City of South Bend to <br />the Department of Redevelopment was tabled at last week's meeting. <br />Mr. Wayne Brownell of the Department of Redevelopment was present <br />and said this resolution was the result of a conference between <br />Mr. Parker, Deputy City Attorney, and Mr. Butler, Department of <br />Redevelopment Attorney and was for the purpose of land acquisition <br />in the southeast neighborhood area for park purposes. Appraisals <br />of the property are on file in the Board of Public Works Office. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the following resolution <br />was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 20, 1974 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SALE OF REAL ESTATE TO <br />THE DEPART17ENT OF REDEVELOPIENT OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend owns certain real estate as <br />hereinafter described which is not necessary to the public use and <br />is no longer needed and is not set aside by the State of Indiana <br />or the City of South Bend for public purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, appraisals have been had on each parcel of real estate as <br />hereinafter described by qualified apprapsers and said appraisals <br />are in writing, are now available and are placed of record; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Redevelopment of the City of South Bend <br />now desires to purchase from the City of South Bend the hereinafter <br />described real estate for a sum equal to the aggregate appraised <br />value of each of sail parcels of real estate; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Redevelopment of the City of South Bend <br />is a public body co -extensive with the territory of the City <br />of South Bend and is a part of and a Department within the City of <br />South Bend within the purview of I.C. 5-18-1-1 permitting the <br />sale of real estate with another public body co -extensive with <br />the territory of another public body, or which one public body is <br />a part of such other public body upon the terms set forth therein; <br />and such sale is further provided for pursuant to the terms of such <br />statute by Chapter 30A-2 of the Municipal Code of the City of South <br />Bend. <br />
