SPECIAL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 12, 1974
A Special Meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at
8:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 1974 with Mr. Farrand and
Mr. Seitz present.
APPROVAL OF APPLICATIONS FOR RIVER BEND PLAZA
Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved two
applications for River Bend Plaza. One was for a Craft Sale by
the Y. W. C. A. and one was for the sale of handmade craft items
by Raquel Lopez. Both appliations are for September 24.
AWARDING OF BID - CREST MANOR SEWERS, BERKSHIRE AND HUFFMAN DRIVES
The Bureau of Design and Administration made the following report
on its review of the bids received for the construction of the
Crest Manor Sewers on Berkshire and Huffman Drives. The bids were
tabulated and it was noted that Marion Hamilton & Sons, Inc. bid
was not included in the tabulation as it was unsigned and was,
therefore, a non -responsive bid. It was noted that all bids were
above the Engineer's Estimate. However, the total project cost
included charges for Engineering, Barrett Law and a Contingency
Item and two of the bids were under the total project cost. The
Department of Public Works provided the Engineering and will provide
the Barrett Law at no charge to the project. Therefore, the
recommendation continued that the contract should be awarded to the
lowest responsive bidder, H. DeWulf Mechanical Contractors, Inc. on
their bid of $15,749.00. It was moved, seconded and carried, that
the bid of H. DeWulf Mechanical Contractors be accepted for the
construction of the Crest Manor Sewers.
APPROVAL OF PLANS - INWOOD-DENSLOW STREET IMPROVEMENTS AND.'PIER PARK
Title Sheets for the Inwood-Denslow Street Improvements and for
Pier Park were presented to the Board.
