REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 29, 1974 <br />Mr. Farrand noted that there was an error in computation of interest <br />on the earlier agreement. The Legal Department reviewed the matter <br />and made a recommendation to the Board. Three of the trade-in <br />vehicles were in such poor condition they were not acceptable to <br />Michiana Mack. The following Release was presented to the Board <br />RELEASE <br />In consideration for the Municipal City of South Bend agreeing to <br />pay an interest rate of 5.61% rather than 4.610 on the lease - <br />purchase of 8 Mack trucks, I hereby release any and all claims I may <br />have against the said City for the condition of'the trucks given in <br />trade by the said City on the purchase of the said Mack trucks. <br />MICHIANA MACK, INC. <br />s/ Ronald Delcamp, V.P. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the release. <br />SIGNING OF LEASE -PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR MACK TRUCKS <br />A new lease -purchase agreement with the National Bank & Trust Company <br />for the eight Mack trucks was presented to the Board. The agreement <br />has been reviewed by the Legal Department and they recommended <br />approval. The agreement calls for six yearly payments of $48,622.78. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Lease -Purchase Agreement <br />was approved. <br />REQUEST APPROVED TO LOCATE TRAILER AT 700 WEST CHIPPEWA <br />The Board received a request from the"A. Baker'Mfg. Co. to locate <br />a trailer on their property at 700 W. Chippewa, while their present <br />building is remodeled. Forrest West; Director of the Bureau of <br />Buildings, reviewed the request and recommended approval provided <br />the electrical and plumbing hook-ups are done by licensed con- <br />tractors. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved <br />the request, subject to the stipulations of the Building Department. <br />DEDICATION OF A PART OF O'BRIEN STREET FILED <br />Raymond Lang, Engineer, filed with the Board a petition and drawings <br />for the dedication of O'Brien Street from the South line of Werwinski <br />to 163 feet south. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />dedication was referred to the Area Plan Commission for review and <br />recommendation. <br />PARKING RESTRICTION ON IRELAND ROAD <br />The Board received a recommendation from the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting that there be no parking on Ireland Road from Ironwood <br />to York. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the recommendation <br />was approved. <br />COMPLAINT - SIDEWALK AT 3016 MISHAWAKA AVENUE <br />The Board received a complaint from William Kelly regarding the con- <br />dition of the sidewalk at 3016 Mishawaka Avenue. The sidewalk is <br />badly in need of repair and the owner has been asked several times <br />to make repairs. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the complaint <br />was referred to the Bureau of Engineering for review and recommendation. <br />REPORT ON REQUEST TO PARK ON LINCOLNWAY EAST AUGUST 3 AND 4 <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Ligbting reported to the Board that <br />arrangements have been coordinated with the Police Department Traffic <br />Bureau to allow parking on Linconway East, from Miami to Ironwood, <br />on August 3 and 4, in connection with an Art Fair to be held at the <br />Potpourri. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the report was <br />ordered filed. <br />
