MIU <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 1, 1974 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m, on Monday, July 1, 1974 with Mr. Farrand and Mr. Barcome <br />present. Deputy City Attorney Kathleen Cekanski was also present. <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - EDI:SON ROAD-ELWOOD AVENUE TRUNK SEWER <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the construction of <br />the Edison Road -Elwood Avenue Trunk Sewer. The Clerk tendered proofs <br />of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County <br />News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were <br />opened and publicly read: <br />H. DeWulf Mechanical Contractor, Inc. Bid was signed by Henry DeWulf, <br />P. 0. Box 243 non -collusion affidavit was in <br />Mishawaka, Indiana order and a 5% bid bond <br />accompanied the bid. <br />Bid - $137,350.00 <br />0 Woodruff and Sons, Inc. <br />P. 0. Box 450 <br />Michigan City, Ind. 46360 <br />W <br />Bid - $97,932.00. <br />Selge Construction Company <br />1117 Oakdale <br />Niles, Michigan <br />Bid - $ 102,855,00 <br />Bid was signed by Gordon D. Booz, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 5% bid bond <br />accompanied the bid. <br />Bid was signed by Marvin L. <br />Selge, non -collusion affidavit <br />was in order and a 5% bid bond <br />accompanied the bid. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to <br />David A. Wells, Manager, Bureau of Design and Administration, who will <br />review the bids and return with a recommendation before the end of the <br />meeting. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - NORTHWEST SANITARY SEWER <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the construction of <br />the Northwest Sanitary Sewers. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication <br />of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were <br />found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly <br />read: <br />Marion Hamilton & Son, Inc. <br />60689 U. S. 31, South <br />South Bend, Indiana 46614 <br />Bid - $ 154,181.70 <br />Dye Plumbing & Heating Co. <br />112 Madison St. <br />LaPorte, Indiana <br />Bid - $129,478.50 <br />Selge Construction Co. <br />1117 Oakdale <br />Niles, Michigan <br />Bid - $138,124.65 <br />Bid was signed by Marion M. Hamilton <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 5% bid bond accompanied <br />the bid. <br />Bid was signed by Charles T. Dye, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 5% bid bond accompanied <br />the bid. <br />Bid was signed by Marvin L. Selge, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 5% bid bond accompanied <br />the bid. <br />
