1� 1 <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />JUNE 6, 1974 <br />A Special Meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />8:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 1974 with all members present. <br />BICENTENNIAL AND INDIAN PARADE APPROVED <br />The Board received a report from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />that a request for a parade on Saturday, June 8 at 9:00 a.m. by <br />the Bicentennial Committee had been reviewed and coordinated with <br />the. parade scheduled by the All American Indian Association. The <br />Bicentennial Committee Parade will begin at Colfax Avenue at 9:00 <br />a.m. and will continue to Jefferson Boulevard where the parade will <br />turn around and return to the River Bend Plaza Office. <br />The Indian Association Parade is scheduled to begin at 16:00 a.m. and <br />march from Colfax Avenue south to Western Avenue, turn and march <br />back to Colfax Avenue. Because brick work on the Plaza has not been <br />completed, it is recommended that the horses in the Indian Parade <br />go only as far as Jefferson, then turn right and proceed to Rasmussen <br />Court, right on Rasmussen Court to Washington Street and back to the <br />Plaza. <br />The two parades have been coordinated with Captain Sweitzer of the <br />Traffic Detail and approval is recommended. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the <br />recommendation of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting regarding the <br />Bicentennial Committee and the All American Indian Association parades. <br />REDEEMER LUTHERAN CHURCH PARADE APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from the Redeemer Lutheran Church to <br />hold a parade in conjunction with their Bible School. The parade <br />was requested for 9:30 a.m, on Saturday, June 8, 1974. The Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting reviewed the -request and the proposed route <br />which is in McKinley Terrace near the church. Mr. Wadzinski and <br />Captain Sweitzer have recommended approval and police personnel <br />will be assigned. Insurance requirements of the Board are to be met. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the <br />parade request subject to Mr. Wadzinski's recommendation. <br />There being no further business to come before the Special Meeting, <br />upon motion made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned at <br />8:10 a.m. <br />Rollin E.
