REGULAR MEETING MAY 6, 1974 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 1974 with all members present. City Attorney James A. Roemer was also present. Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved. OPENING OF BIDS - OAK PARK SEWERS This was the date set for receiving bids for the Oak Park Sewers, authorized under Improvement Resolution No. 3400, 1974 for the con- struction of local sanitary sewers on Oak Park Drive and Edison Road from Oak Ridge Drive to Ironwood Drive. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: H. DeWulf Mechanical Contractor Bid - $40,606.00 Bartolini Excavating Company Bid was signed by Henry DeWulf, non -collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. The bid received from Bartolini Excavating Company was not signed and was a defective bid. The bid was not read and it was rejected. Dye Plumbing & Heating Company Bid - $54,369.00 Selge Construction Company Bid was signed by Charles T. Dye, non -collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. The bid received from the Selge Construction Company was not sub- mitted on a Bid Form 96, as prescribed by the State Board of Accounts and the bid was rejected. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the bids to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation. PUBLIC HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3395 This being the date set, hearing was held on the Assessment Roll for Vacation Resolution No. 3395 for the vacation of the north -south alley between Carroll and Columbia Streets from Bronson Street south, one hundred and thirty-nine (139) feet, City of South Bend. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. No remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrances having been filed, upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Assessment Roll showing no net damages and no net benefits was approved as adopted and said resolution is in all things ratified and confirmed and said proceedings closed. ADOPTION OF ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3398 Rollin E. Farrand, City Engineer, files an Assessment Roll showing the award of damages and assessment of benefits in Vacation Resolution No. 3398 for the vacation of a portion of Chippewa Avenue from the east line of Miami Hills Addition southwest and west a distance of 765.07 feet. All in the property of First Community Development Corporation. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: the southerly portion of that property owned by First Community Development Corporation.
